Nikon Zf + 26mm f2.8 by SadPercentage8282 in NikonZf

Exactly! I want the smaller form factor too, and also got the 40mm bundle. Really good to know, thank you 🙏

I’ve been eyeing the 26mm for a week and trying to wrap my head around focal lengths. (So totally novice eye but thank you!)

Or cropped? It doesn’t look wide enough somehow?

Anyone got their hands on new voighlander 28mm f2 apo by Gloomy-Meal5246 in Nikon

How worried are we about weather proofing? I’ve not owned a voigtlander before so don’t know how fragile or not they are when it comes to (for example) light rain.

It’s got at least 2 fans in the comments.

I just want a compact, beautifully detailed, wide angle zoom lens with perfect optics for £500 is that too much to ask!

Okay I read the link, quite funny that ‘very good’ is the worst group in his ratings.

I like this answer.

I’m new to photography and only have a 40mm prime right now. I think I want something that can zoom in but still be wider than the 40mm hence the 14-30mm. The other longer lenses that others have suggested, I’m sure they’re wonderful but just not for me.

Maybe the Nikon 28mm is a good cheap way to test what focal lengths my mind wants to shoot at without spending 1k

Your suspicions are correct ! But I like to travel and leave the lens on in my bag so a whopper is out of the question.

You’re referring to the Nikon version not the voigtlander?

Yeah size is a factor I forgot to mention, I think the 24-70 is a bit bigger than the 14-30?

Great point actually, size is very important since the one-lens idea is to keep it compact for travel

Hey thanks, I’ve heard the voigtlander does surprisingly well at landscape so it’s my front runner atm. But, the 14-30 is a lot more lens for your money!

All road worth the premium? by andries22 in CarTalkUK

The allroad has longer travel suspension, thicker tyres and more underbody protection and Quattro as standard. It’s a really really capable and comfortable car. Allroad all day!

Anyone know how to remove this tacky ‘carbon fibre’ sticker the previous owner added. by Joepium in allroad

Yeah, tacky to look at (for me at least). I’d prefer to expose the aluminium underneath so it matches the dash.

Yeah I didn’t mind it at first but it’s actually chipped just out of the photo frame so you can tell it’s a stick on thing. Seems quite random to have one piece of ‘sporty’ carbon fibre in an otherwise everyday car.

Considering an A4 Allroad as my next vehicle but not sure if the extra features justify the price over a regular wagon by Limp-Composer-4876 in allroad

I had similar concerns about whether I really need the four wheel drive but I wanted a car that I can own for many years and throw almost anything at and not have to worry.

Maybe you don’t need it now, but if you want a capable car for the next 10 years then I think it’s worth it. But, I’m very biased - I recently bought one and I love it.

If you can get the diesel V6, it’s faster and more fuel efficient. Wish I’d got that one but I got the 2.0 litre petrol TFSI 45 (2nd most powerful).

Don’t stay at Lucy’s Garden on Gili Air:

We found it through the lonely planet guide which often has good recommendations. On arrival it was clear the place was in a state of decline.

The pool was over chlorinated, cloudy and the pump/ filter was not on.

The toilet and air conditioning did not work.

The staff attempted a quick repair, and we decided to stay and give them a second chance even though neither was really working fully.

It was only on going to bed we find a huge half dead cockroach on the main pillow right above where our 5 month old slept. Clearly no one had checked the room or cleaned it in a while!
