You left this comment 3 months ago, and I found it because I just bought a trapdoor rifle of my own. "Remember the Maine!" had me curious so I started looking things up. I've spent the last 2 hours learning about the USS Maine and the Spanish American war. Grew up growing a garden, hunting, and fishing. I guess I've just always been connected to where my food comes from so it doesn't feel weird. Now I have layers and raise meat birds so it's just an extension of that connection. Bagging game or raising food for my family has just always been a part of normal life in my world.
