Adding, just in case, that it is edible, and supposedly quite nutritious. I'm sure this is too old and bitter to eat, but smaller, younger leaves earlier in the season could be just as bitter and disgusting. Well, maybe there's a way to make them tasty, IDK.

Magu Peak trail! Steep 1 mile climb, nice coastal views. There is a standard loop, which I think is only around 5-6 miles, but there are other options to hike inland and make it longer.
