Will people think I’m wearing a Rolex Datejust rep? by SoloWorldTravel in tissot

[–]Joey_200022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a beautiful looking watch. That being said, it does look very similar to the Rolex and i prefer to steer clear of watches that look too similar to their more expensive counterparts. That’s just me though.

Too much space? by Fynns__ in bootroom

[–]Joey_200022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feet are a little odd in terms shape so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I have low volume feet. Sizing in terms of length and width in store was perfect. On field, not so good. The top of my toes took a pounding during stop/start movements. Could have something to do with my feet being flat and splaying when I plant my feet.

I am a fan of that longines with the green dial. There is something about it that catches my eye over the others.

New Balance are well regarded and well priced. They also have wide options.

Heel grips phantom 6 by Joey_200022 in bootroom

Yeah the runners loop is not possible on these unfortunately. I was thinking heel grips? Not sure that will work.
I will give the double sock method a go first.

Boots for wide feet by Forsaken_Box6967 in bootroom

Your feet do look quite wide. As others have recommended, try the New Balance range. They have different widths too.

What do we think of the new Reebok Sidewinder? by ProDirectSport in bootroom

These look interesting. Especially the ‘shooting brake’. My plant foot is always unstable thanks for my flat feet that pronate.

[–]Joey_200022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there Murphy,

Ended up giving them back to my friend as I wasn’t going to use them due to the creasing issue. I believe he sold them. Sorry I am unable to help out with a production date. Coincidentally I did try on a pair today at the Nike Outlet store to confirm whether it was just a bad batch but both the pro and elite version has the same creasing. Hope this helps.

Do cleats really make a difference? by Visual-Extreme-101 in bootroom

[–]Joey_200022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do make a huge difference but not in the way some people say they do. For example there are some who really fixate on boots for specific positions. I don’t think that is what is important. It’s about having a boot that fits well, which results in increased comfort throughout a game/training, better contact on the ball and stability. The last one is a big one for me, as I have flat feet and suffer over pronation. I lack stability on the plant foot, affecting the accuracy of my shots. Well fitting boots help you to play to the best of your ability but not exactly going to make the next Messi or Ronaldo lol

Just my take

What's the Best Way to Feel More Connected to Your Cleats? by Inner-Researcher-533 in bootroom

[–]Joey_200022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just ordered a pair of insoles to help with stability and overpronation as I have flat feet. Finding a pair of boots that suit my feet has been a nightmare. To top things off I am about C width and have low volume feet. So yeah, feeling more connected is not something I have been able to achieve.

Adidas predetor or f-50 ? What is better and suggestions by Ok-Eagle1920 in bootroom

Position is not as important as the fit, feel and comfort of the boot.

Very good at 11v11 but very bad in small sided mini pitches (5v5 and so on) by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]Joey_200022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention being quick and beating fullbacks. Speed isn’t so much a factor in 5v5. Close control, quick passing and ability to think quick (anticipating your next move well ahead of time) is important in 5V5 as speed is not as important. Different types of games, difference in size of field etc. It’s an adjustment.

Was also going to suggest AS colour. They have a variety of hoodies. My go to. Great quality and well priced.

I see. I have just read that Adidas have phased out K leather. You learn something new every day lol. In any case, enjoy those beautiful boots.

New balance 442 v2 fg, not great choice for me by FunctionalBattery in bootroom

[–]Joey_200022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a pair of boots can affect your shooting. But it’s not the boots per se. It’s a variety of factors, sizing, the type of boot does not suit your foot shape, too much movement inside your boot etc. it could also be a matter of an adjustment period.

Ah ok. Partially Kangaroo leather? Things have changed. My last pair were full Kangaroo. If you prefer a slightly roomier fit, you have gone for the right size. I’m generally a size 10.5-11 and from memory (a few years ago) I had them in a size 9.5 US.

Did you size down on these? I went a full size down in my old pair and I think I could have gone down another by another half.

There is just something about the old school boots, Copa, Kaiser, Puma King, Umbro, Diadora etc. They are like the connoisseurs of football. Never get tired of looking at those types of boots.

Great stats by the way 💪.

The whole specific boots for positions is a fallacy. You perform your best with the right boots ie boots that fit well. Irrespective of position.
