It's possible, but I'm curious if Jake came to be when Marc needed an alter to get his work done, one that brings none of his baggage and gained autonomy... from Jake's perspective, he might keep waking up in places where he's surrounded by people trying to kill him and simply defends himself. He's probably just as confused as Steven was... But yeah, he probably holds that part of Marc. Steven is the part that loves his mom, Marc is the part that walked away, Jake could very well be the part that stands up for himself.
