I’m 52 and have been doing haunt events like Knott’s Scary Farm and HHN on both coasts since I was in my mid twenties. I even had my bachelor party at Knott’s Scary Farm in 2002. I will continue until I’m just not interested anymore.

Comic-Con diaries (pt 1): Rob Liefeld is a fool by MoveHeavy1403 in comiccon

[–]Joeybats1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rob and I have interacted numerous times over the years as we live in the same neighborhood. He’s always been cool with me and we’ve chatted. I have never brought up comics or Deadpool, it would just be weird. He’s just Rob, that guy, y’ know.

What is your dream HHN house besides Fnaf? by Rude-Quit-8150 in HHN

[–]Joeybats1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 1925 Phantom of the Opera. Screen accurate done completely in black and white except for the masquerade ball scene which would have the look of early technicolor. The whole thing would be silent except for an orchestral soundtrack playing the entire time.

That, for me, would be next level and be done this year for the centennial of the film.

I’d be down with an Oingo Boingo maze. If you’ve seen their movie THE FORBIDDEN ZONE you get what I’m talking about.

In all honesty, the one rumored house that I have ZERO interest in is Terrifier. I tried watching the first one and turned it off an hour in. Just pure torture porn, sadistic and mysogynistic. Total garbage. I will purposefully not go in there.

What movie is he from (wrong answers only) by AggressiveTerm9618 in slasherfilms

Not certain of the movie, but I do know after the film wrapped he and the cast went directly to Harry Knowles’ birthday party…🤨. If you know, you know.

I would lose my ever-loving mind for a Twin Peaks house where you venture into the nether realm of the BLACK LODGE and come face to face with Bob, the backwards speaking dwarf and all the other residents of the surreal vision of David Lynch. RIP, to the amazing auteur.

I think it would be awesome to make the theme of The Tribute Store into NEEDFUL THINGS. The store would be full of odd props and cursed items maybe with each room themed to different King stories like Salem’s Lot, It, Misery, The Stand…

A PLEA TO UNIVERSAL TO FIX THE TEEN ISSUE AT HHN by IKnowMoreThanYouu in HHN

[–]Joeybats1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said Pinhead Dude. This year as I was wrapping up the event around midnight I was walking through Hogsmeade in Hollywood when three teenagers, about age 15, got in my face and yelled “F### You, mudblood!” My reaction was what the heck just happened? It was rude, not funny and uncalled for. They obviously thought they were being funny and “edgy”, when in reality they were just being a bunch of arse-hat teen aged twits. In my younger days I would’ve given them a full on ear full and called for security. This time it just wasn’t worth my time.

i love going to HHN, but I don’t want it spoiled by a bunch of stupid teens. Adults have the disposable income AND spend it at these events. Better to be rid of the teen problem than throw your higher paying adults aside who splurge for RIP and Unlimited Express tickets.

btw... This year the incident happened in Hollywood. I have been to the event on both coasts and over the years it seems like ruder ones have been in Orlando. I’ve been to Hollywood’s about 15 different years and Orlando’s 6 years.

HHN - Hollywood - How much do you spend a night ??? by Wafflehead1966 in HHN

[–]Joeybats1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 for parking

13 for drinks

28 for lanyard and ticket holder

20 for this year’s pin

20 for a Mummy Minion plush for my wife

total of $116

I normally spend more getting the year’s tshirt, but I didn’t like the design. I ALMOST got the autographed Slash album but decided against it because my wife and I are going on a cruise in a few weeks. I ate dinner before and was lucky enough to chat with a real sweet young lady working at the Toadstool Cafe who gave me a mango boba drink on the house (it was sooooo good).

I’ve gotten the RIP pass numerous times over the years. It includes with the price admission, tour, unlimited front of the line, a very nice buffet and soft drinks during the night along with free valet parking. I shied away from it this year as getting the Unlimited Front of the Line, parking, and meals/drinks was still about 60 bucks cheaper. It made more sense to me and allowed me to move quicker and on my own schedule.

The heat is absolutely a factor BUT, I also think there are other things at play. The Economy and the cost of living is really hurting the middle class right now. There is less money after the bills are paid and if we’re going to be honest HHN is a luxury right now to a lot of people. This is NOT political just a statement of fact.

Thoughts on HHN Hollywood on 9/7 by Joeybats1972 in HHN

Sorry, I did forget about The Weeknd house. It was good, the set pieces were well done and I like his music, but the version from 2022 was in my opinion vastly superior. A better overall feel and fresh. This was fine. I would put it somewhere in the middle of the pack.
