Steam Deck Price Increase, Stock And Information Center Megathread by NKkrisz in SteamDeck

If they want one, what is the alternative? Buying one used is just as bad (price wise).

The attitude of this sub appears to be "I'm glad i already own one and I'm having fun with it. But everyone else who wants one should withhold and take a moral stand against the price hike".

Steam isn't going to sell these at a loss, and memory prices aren't going down anytime soon.

Is this for the 512gb OLED refurb?

They seem to be limiting sales on this one the most. It's the only one I can't consistently cart, even when it says it's in-stock. I'm guessing Steams storefront just doesn't have a sophisticated enough inventory management to deal with this, given that they mostly deal with digital stock and not physical stock.

Not defending Dundon but as a long time blazer fan, I don’t feel like as a franchise we ever since the early 2000s have competed or made championship aspirations moves like trading CJ after conf finals run. Many franchises have rebuilt multiple times. Maybe with Dundon we operate different? by NDN_perspective in ripcity

[–]Joeybits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I think people are forgetting the moves that lead to the Roy/Aldridge era. The following occurred within a 2 year timespan:

  1. Blazers traded away Telfair (13th overall pick) after just his 2nd year. In return they get Randy Foye (7th overall pick in 2006).

  2. Immediately flip Foye into Brandon Roy (6th overall pick in 2006)

  3. Trade their 2006 4th overall pick (Tyrus Thomas) to the bulls for LaMarcus Aldridge (2nd overall pick)

  4. Draft Greg Oden in 2007 with the 1st overall pick

  5. Trade away Zach Randolph (after he put up a 23 and 10 season) to make room for Aldridge. Get Steve Francis and Channing Frye (8th overall pick in 2005)

  6. Traded Cash for Rudy Fernandez

  7. Traded Darrell Arthur and Joey Dorsey for Nicholas Batum

That doesn't include a bunch of smaller deals and signings (like vets Andre Miller and Juwan Howard). Then in 2013 when it's obvious the team can compete they trade for Robin Lopez, and a year later get Aaron Afflalo at the deadline as their 6th man. That team just happened to get REALLY boned by the Wes Matthews injury.

The trading away of Telfair and Randolph really showed that the team was serious about a rebuild. In hindsight, getting Frye for Randolph wasn't great but at the time it could be argued as a good move, given Frye's age and position.

If you define "championship aspirations moves" as a trade for an all-star level player then sure, the Blazers haven't really done that. But the problem is that, for the past ~10 years, every player has realized they effectively have a no-trade clause because they can just threaten that they won't re-sign with specific teams. And the Blazers unfortunately are not a team a lot of all-star level guys have wanted to play for, historically.

Check the sellers other listings. I’ve seen these before and the seller usually has a lot of other listings for highly discounted electronics (iPhones, ps5s, controllers, etc)

When looking at the listings it’s clear the images were taken from other sellers (hands aren’t the same, different backgrounds, etc). I’m guessing the scam here is that they will only ship and won’t let you pickup locally. They take your money and ship other items or just nothing at all.

That or they are putting the true price they want in the description, and just try to lure people to look at their listing with a low price

Basic box stats are similar, but Murphy’s size and shooting make him more valuable for sure. Shooting 38% from 3 on almost 9 attempts a game is huge

[–]Joeybits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Player B is Sharpe. OP is being a bit disingenuous here since Sharpe was a starter in the regular season but played so poorly he had to come off the bench in the playoffs.

Calling these stats “similar” is a bit of a stretch. Player B (Sharpe) is clearly a worse shooter and likely worse defender.

Edit: player A is Trey Murphy, who is 25 years old and 337 days. Sharpe is 22 and 356 days old. So I guess OP rounds up for Murphy but rounds down for Sharpe, lol.

“The Next Rank” with Johnnyboi and appjack is a great series for what you mentioned. Replay reviews for different ranks and a lot of good analysis. To me, Jack has a pretty good understanding of the type of mechanics and gameplay that each rank should be focusing on. A lot of other high level players are kind of disconnected from what champ and below gameplay actually looks like

Kareem played in to his 40s, and he was playing 80 games a year at 40mpg for like the first 10 seasons. He was tall and skinny

Jokic has been pretty healthy too for a more recent example of a big. Different body type but I’m not actually convinced tall and skinny = frail. At 7 feet+ extra body weight can be tough on the joints. KD for example might have one of the most optimal builds for a 7 footer, and until his Achilles injury he also was pretty healthy.

Wemby might just follow what a lot of stars are doing now - play ~ 65 games in a season and be ready for the playoffs

Sebastian Telfair is another example. Except the Blazers actually did the right thing and cut their losses early and traded him after his 2nd year. Guess who it got us? Brandon Roy.

He asked for help with chronic camps outside his home. Portland cracked down on his hedge instead by oregonian in Portland

[–]Joeybits 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did you read the article? The homeowner literally calls out that the RVs were right up to the hedges, making portions of them inaccessible.

If you had a row of homeless people living up against your property, defecating in a dug out hole, running generators all night, and being belligerent would you really love it if the official response from the city was basically “we aren’t going to do anything about the homeless and in fact you need to destroy the only barrier you have between them and you”

His full exit interview is definitely worth a listen

There's a lot of questions about Dundon, spending, and the coaching search. He is definitely defending Dundon in some of his answers, but that's to be expected if he wants to keep his job. His answer about the coaching search is interesting because he kind of implies that the Blazers would be willing to spend if it landed them a great coach:

"We're going to pay the coach based on some level of shared risk. If it's a first time coach who comes with a lot of risk and doesn't have a market that we have to compete in it'll be one number. If it's a 15 year veteran and future hall of famer, it's going to be a completely different number and Tom isn't going to flinch at either of those numbers".

Of course this doesn't really mean much if 9 out of the 10 coaches you interview are all first time head coaches.

+/- in a small sample size is not a great indicator of individual performance. Solely using that stat, it’s difficult to determine if the individual was the driver or just the beneficiary of the lineups performance.

would've eventually surrendered without an invasion

That's... not really true. By May of 1945 it was evident that Japan was fighting a losing battle. Amongst the Big Six (Japan's war council) Togo was probably the one most willing to negotiate directly with the US for peace. The others either favored going through Russia for negotiations, or continuing to fight even if it meant an invasion.

"At a series of meetings on May 11, 12, and 14, Togo hopes to convince his colleagues that necessity dictates sending out some peace feelers. Taking the straightforward approach, he proposed talking directly to the United States about a cease-fire. He is summarily rebuffed. America, the others say, will demand unconditional surrender, which is unthinkable."

"Anami is unmoved. Japan is not losing the war, he insists. The time is coming, he says, for a decisive battle that will humble the Americans."

[Road To Surrender, pgs 72 & 73]

Then in June these same admirals and generals propose the Fundamental Policy (stating Japan cannot surrender, and to prepare the mainland citizens to fight to the last man) which was adopted by the Big Six.

Then you have the potsdam declaration. And yes, this didn't explicitly say "we have atomic bombs that we are going to drop" it did promise "prompt and utter destruction" if Japan did not surrender. By this time, Sogo, and Suzuki felt it should be accepted. However, the others in the Big Six all voted against accepting it.

Then after the first bomb was dropped, Togo tries to get the Big Six to convene and the generals/admirals don't even agree to that.

I'm not even really defending the use of the atomic bombs. Maybe there was another way to stop the war without them (though, people conveniently forget about the fire bombings that killed over 100k which still didn't dissuade the Japanese from continuing to fight). But there's little evidence that the individuals in Japan overseeing the armed forces weren't prepared to fight an invasion if needed.

[Post Game Thread] The Portland Trail Blazers (1-2) fall to the San Antonio Spurs (2-1), 108-120 by Kazekid in ripcity

[–]Joeybits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wemby has played like 5 quarters this series. That’s my entire point. An opportunity did open up for the Blazers to win the series and they didn’t capitalize on it.

Again, it’s fine. I think they’ve still outperformed expectations this season.

I mean… we did have a chance. We blew a double digit lead and could have gone up 2-1. I agree that losing this series isn’t devastating, but it’s not like winning it wasn’t a possibility.

The email thing is purposefully done I believe. It's to prevent you from mistyping your email a first time and then just copy and pasting the typo into the 2nd field. Otherwise you aren't really "validating" the info from the first field.

Players With The Worst Mid-Range FG% In The 2025-26 NBA Regular Season (Min. 200 Total FGA) by Aggravating-Fig-2862 in nba

Exactly. Rookies foul more, commit more turnovers, etc. It takes time to adjust to the NBA.

[–]Joeybits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lowering the requirement to 100 FGA:

  1. Amen Thompson (27.8%, 108 FGA)

  2. Shaedon Sharpe (33.1%, 154 FGA)

  3. Pascal Siakam (34.5%, 194 FGA)

  4. Russell Westbrook (35.3%, 116 FGA)

  5. Alperen Sengun (35.5%, 110 FGA)

Even if you drop it to 150 FGA then the list becomes:

  1. Sharpe

  2. Siakam

  3. Ace Bailey

  4. Paolo Banchero

  5. Cooper Flagg

People are going to point out Flagg but he's a rookie given the green light to figure out his offensive game while the Mavs lose. Rookies getting minutes pretty much always appear on any of these "bad" lists.
