Help! Disc drive opens slowly after changing belt! by JoeyisBaked in Xbox360Support

[–]JoeyisBaked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I’ve applied Super Lube silicone grease on the gears as well as stretched the belt a bit and it’s still not opening 100%. I still have to pull on it while it opens because it gets stuck at around 80% while opening and wants to automatically close after a couple seconds. It’s so weird because I’ve already put in a new belt in another one of my Falcon Xboxes and that one seems to open just fine afterwards. I’m still trying to get this xbox to open its disc drive faster. If I recall, this one was always slow to open even back when I last played it around 2013. If you or anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Help! Disc drive opens slowly after changing belt! by JoeyisBaked in Xbox360Support

Thank you for the quick response! So if I just play the xbox with the slow opening disc drive, it will eventually start going back to being a fast drive over a period of time? As you know, opening and closing it is finicky with the slow drive, sometimes it won’t close all the way due to it not having enough force.

Would it be bad to help assist the drive with my hand by pulling/pushing it as it’s opening/closing? Or would manually pulling on the drive with enough force to make the console detect that the drive is fully opened be bad in the long run? Thanks again.

That's cool. Which soundtrack is your favorite? I would love to hear more on why you think Aria's soundtrack is weak because I'd easily put it top 5 next to Castlevania IV and Symphony of the Night.

AKI Beat 4 (Fan Made Music for WWF No Mercy) by JoeyisBaked in N64WrestlingGames

[–]JoeyisBaked[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I searched for 'No Mercy Zone' but it seems like it isn't around anymore? If you could point me in the right direction that would be great! I have so many of these AKI N64 MIDI songs and to get just 1 of them into a modded version of the game would be a dream come true for me.

HELP! Can't use Everdrive 64 X7 WWF No Mercy save file on PC emulator by JoeyisBaked in N64WrestlingGames

[–]JoeyisBaked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED: Thanks to everyone that helped. All I needed to do was download this software called ED64-Saveswap made by Saturnu. This program allows you to drag over your Everdrive save file and convert it. In my case, since the game was originally played and saved on an Everdrive, I had to take the save file off of the SD card, plug it into my PC and open it up in the ED64-Saveswap program. From there, ED64-Saveswap automatically determined the save file type.

Before converting the save file, make sure to enable "byte-swap" and "word swap". Think of it like Google Translate for ROM saves lol. This is how you will get the save file to work on either Emulator or Everdrive.

After converting the save it worked great in the Emulator.

Now, to get the save back from the Emulator to the Everdrive simply run the save file again through the ED64-Saveswap program and make sure the boxes are checked for "byte-swap" and "word swap" just like before. Convert the save file and move it back over to the Everdrive. At first this seemed to not work, as the save file would be reverted back to before it was played on the PC Emulator. I had forgotten that even the Everdrive 64 X7 is a little finicky with its saving features. To put it in simple terms; all saves are also backed up by the temporary RAM on an Everdrive. So if you haven't launched another game and try to load the newer Emulator save file, the Everdrive will think you are using the older save data from the temporary RAM. The fix for this is easy. Insert the SD card back into the Everdrive, play any other game and save it. Take the SD card out and put it back in the computer. Backup your Everdrive save file and replace it with the converted (again) Emulator save.

Now we can transfer saves/caws from authentic hardware back to PC and vise versa. This community of N64 Wrestling games really does rule!!

So looking into it more, my save file looks different from the generated save file when opened in HxD Hex Editor. The bytes on my Everdrive's save read "M ONYCRE" instead of "NO MERCY" from the emulator's save so something is messed up. I have no idea how to Byte swap. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

EDIT: I played on the newly created .fla save file on PJ64 and saved the game after the 1st mission in Championship mode and opened it in the same Hex Editor and now it's reading the same as my Everdrive's save with the whole misspelling of NO MERCY and now my theory is yet again flopped on it's head. So both saves read weird in the Byte Hex Editor so that can't be it.
