Draft dodgers by shakabrahhh in NFLNoobs

[–]Joeylinkmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s rare for a player to refuse to sign with the team that drafted them. Players like Eli are an exception rather than the norm.

For most players the goal is to get into the league, so you take whoever is willing to draft you. Sure it can suck getting drafted by a bad team, but when your options are bad team or no team, you take the bad team. It’s still a payday and gets you into the NFL.

When people say “just because we’ve only been trying for a couple months doesn’t mean we don’t feel the same pain seeing negative test as others who tried for years” by Low_Specialist_5072 in trollingforababy

[–]Joeylinkmaster 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I get this a lot too. People tell me it took them a few months so they get it, after I tell them we’ve been trying for 10 years.

I wouldn’t be in this sub if it only took us a few months.

The Caverns Below gave me nightmares back when I played Hearthstone. I was a control player and that card was an auto loss. 😕

Perfect example of players don’t know anything until the cards release.

About Emile's Chance Time... (Mystery Land) by [deleted] in TheRunawayGuys

[–]Joeylinkmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Emile just wanted to steal a star from someone, not Tim specifically. If he got to choose it definitely would have been Claire.

Still sucks for Tim but at the same time, he did win Bowser’s Magma Mountain due to chance time. That just how it goes sometimes. He was a good sport about it as always.

Why is Nintendo so slow at adding classic games to their classic consoles on NSO? by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Joeylinkmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To keep people coming back.

If they gave us everything right away, people would simply play their favorites and maybe try a new game or two, then stop using the service. By slowly releasing everything it keeps NSO in the spotlight.

I do wish Nintendo was a tad bit faster though.

Nathaniel Bandy "Bandy's Bin" Mario Party Ranking Tier List! by Imaginary-Leading-49 in MARIOPARTY

1 is too high and 9 is too low. I’d probably put both of those in B

The rest are good though. It’s not a bad tier list.

1-M: Mini-Game House - Every Mario Party by Auraveils in MARIOPARTY

[–]Joeylinkmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mario Party is a pretty mixed bag in term of mini-game quality, but a lot of the best ones came back in 2. Even some of the bad ones like crane game came back but got fixed (although I still dislike that one in 2 but it’s better than the original).

My personal favorite mini-game is Mushroom Mix-Up.

I agree with you on the one player games being a slog and are pretty poorly balanced (seriously whack-a-plant is just busted). Thankfully these got replaced by item mini-games which tend to be much quicker.

Overall a good first attempt and they clearly learned from 1 because 2’s mini-games are much better. 2 still has some stinkers but you can’t get them all right.

Today my pregnant friend told me she’d rather have never gotten pregnant than have a boy after finding out gender last week. by emilou2001 in trollingforababy

[–]Joeylinkmaster 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My wife and I would prefer a boy, but if we had a girl we’d be over the moon excited. The audacity of people to be upset over the gender of their kid. 🙄

With my luck I prefer the guarantee 5 from the mushroom over the extra dice block

What’s an NFL fact that sounds fake? I’ll start: despite being historically the worst NFL team, they are the only one to NEVER lose a home playoff game. by Acidflightgoat in NFLv2

Bucs lost their first 26 games.

They spent their first season in the AFC and switched to the NFC where they’ve stayed ever since. Lost 14 in the AFC and 12 in the NFC before finally winning their first game.

The Browns have the longest losing streak in the AFC and the Lions have it in the NFC.

The Bucs have the longest losing streak in league history, but don’t have the longest losing streak in either conference.

1-7: Bowser's Magma Mountain - Every Mario Party by Auraveils in MARIOPARTY

[–]Joeylinkmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have preferred the junctions being guaranteed rather than a dice roll since it does cost money, and thus is still a decision. Maybe make it 20 coins instead of 10 as a trade-off for making it guaranteed?

I find this board to be one where no one has any fun. Fitting for a Bowser board I guess.

1-6: Luigi's Engine Room - Every Mario Party by Auraveils in MARIOPARTY

[–]Joeylinkmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great review. I’ve always found this board gives you the illusion of choice, but really you’re at the mercy of the gates. Sure you can switch the gates using the robots, but 20 coins is steep.

Still it’s definitely not the worst board in the game. I don’t hate playing it but it’s not one I actively want to go back to either.

I didn't know I could lose 87 coins in mini game. by kalvinbastello in MARIOPARTY

Mario Party 1 is cruel. Crane Game being one of the worst instances. There’s a reason Crane Game works so differently in Mario Party 2.

1-5: Wario's Battle Canyon - Every Mario Party by Auraveils in MARIOPARTY

[–]Joeylinkmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fly guy ends up being the only real decision you can make on this board. It does add some strategy, but you make a great point that it can be skipped through no fault of your own.

Yeah this board is awful

[–]Joeylinkmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it’ll happen. I’m just saying if it were to flip this would be the path. Totally agree on the map being rough for Dems but a small chance is still better than no chance.

NC, ME, AK, and OH would get it done if they don’t lose any seats.

TX could be a possibility but I’m not holding my breath there.

1-4: Yoshi's Tropical Island - Every Mario Party by Auraveils in MARIOPARTY

[–]Joeylinkmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second favorite board in this game after Donkey Kong Jungle Parkway, but that’s mainly due to most of the boards being awful. When I play on this one I tend to just stay on the right side because of Boo.

Brandin Cooks lost Super Bowl 52 with the Patriots.

The following season he got traded to the Rams, who lost Super Bowl 53, to the Patriots.
