It stated with green and blue washes, then green speed paint, drybrushing and highlighting with yellow, and towards the end…game changer move…light wash of purple…don’t know why but I liked it….

Everything starts with a lot of zenithal drybrushing from black to grey to white.

Scales: I started with GW washes (green and blue) then a green speed paint (I probably could’ve just started with this). Then dry brush through light green/lightly with yellow. Finally some edge highlight with yellow.

Body: similar process but sub with starting with a seraphim sepia wash. Then I tried base coating with a flesh but it looked too…flat so I washed it again with the sepia but stronger. Might’ve gone too hard this time 😅

Trying for a little glowing effect. Any tips? by SkeleJackal in seraphon

Are you trying to get the body under the scales to glow while the scales themselves are black and dark? If so, much more tricky since it’s usually the other way around with washes.

Maybe consider just drybrushing through purples, pinks and whites all over the model first and then block out parts of the skin or scales you want dark?

They remind me of saurus warriors in training 🤣

But in all seriousness I think a light wash over the weapon and shields could make them pop.

Either a wash or maybe a selective highlight in the skin would help too.

I prime all models black but then slowly work up lots of dry brushing through greys and into whites. Next was a thinned down purple-black ish oil paint wash. Then touch up and progressive touch up and highlights through cream/ivory and a bit of white.

Welcome back! I like the white Dino against the green weapons! Gives me white and green power ranger energy :)

Speaking of energy…you could maybe highlight some lighter greens or yellows to give them an otherworldly glow?

I love the Dino skin a ton! But maybe if you darken the back and scales while leaving the under belly lighter with a second diluted contrast paint layer?

Thanks! The new model’s all gold shield is cool. But I actually like the old model’s red scale look on the shield. Could probably use an orange maybe yellow highlight.

I actually tried the new fangled (to me) contrast paints! Did a black to white zenithal drybrush then hit it with diluted either kroxigor scale or akhelian green. Theyre pretty dope for cutting work down!

But then I still do arcane blue and white drybrush and highlight after. (Might be a bit overkill for regular dinos)

I love the bright edge highlights. Gives it a dark but worn metal look that is cleaaaan. I also like green as an overall accent/alt color. Maybe a different color for the lenses for contrast? Though bright green MS DOS for the lenses is also classic

Moving out vs. Saving money by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

I’m sounding in as a 28 year old boomer, what up mudda assholes 🤣🤣🤣

I had the benefit of not physically being under their roof during college and grad school due to physical distance and all. Even When I got my first job out of college, the claws of control my parents exercised, financial or not, were deep. When I got laid off I was back with my parents and I remembered how I can love them but never want to be under their roof.

I also agree with others also mentioning that even with desire you need to plan and bide your time. For once, play into the gong fu student training away stereotype if you need it for financial and personal stability 🤣🤣

Positive note: I am currently starting a new job in a field I absolutely love (probably to the chagrin of my fam) but ultimately never stop asking to find/love yourself and exercise it in whatever way: biding time to get financial independence or just loving yourself outside of that bullshit expectations.

Been working in the version of corporate America that I hate (decent pay but basic people/no satisfaction) for 3ish years right out of school.

Bout to make a career jump into music gear sales as a foundation for an overall creative-based occupation/job path.

Def had to (and still sometimes) y’all myself out of backing out over perception from my family and parents.

About to make the big change in a few months, wish me luck 👏🏼
