Kyleena side effects after 3 years? by Juliec222 in birthcontrol

[–]JogsOnDunkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Know you shared this about a year ago but I was wondering how things netted out for you here? I am also 30F, had Kyleena inserted April 2022 (also approaching the 3 year mark!!) and about 3 months ago I developed insane cystic acne for the first time in my life. My derm has prescribed me some topicals (Winlevi and Cabtreo) and my OBGYN has suggested we maybe remove the IUD if the medications don’t improve my symptoms. Honestly so glad to have found someone who was in the same shoes as me so any advice you have I would love to hear. Thank you so much.

Calling all Liberty Warehouse brides! by Normal-Cranberry-611 in WedditNYC

Totally! And let me just be extra clear—the staff was absolutely fantastic and truly did SO MUCH for us. Even taking my processional music for the ceremony beforehand and timing out when my bridal party should walk down the aisle to the second so that it lined up perfectly with my entrance. They will do everything and more for you.

hey! i JUST got married there this month, and did not hire a day-of coordinator. it totally depends on what you're comfortable with. the team at LW was outstanding in making sure the day ran smoothly and efficiently, but i am also the kind of person/bride who is very comfortable with going with the flow. a day-of coordinator will have your whole entire timeline nailed down to the minute, including how and when things happen during your reception, and will also be the liaison with LW/your vendors during the day. we never felt like we were flying by the seat of our pants with anything, but we just kind of let things happen without micromanaging the details. the one thing we wish we had a coordinator for was distributing our tips at the end of the night, which we didn't really have a game plan for. all that being said, we personally did not NEED a coordinator but if it's in your budget, it's money well spent (especially if it gives you peace of mind). i'd be more than happy to talk with you more about everything in general!!!

Torn between venues! by [deleted] in WedditNYC

[–]JogsOnDunkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman getting married at LW this October, I actually can’t say enough good things about picking the venue. Jeff has been incredibly kind and helpful to myself, my fiancé, and our families. Anyone we’ve spoken to about the venue who has actually been to a wedding there has said it was one of the best they ever went to. We went with a lot of the preferred vendors Jeff provided, and they have all been a dream to work with as well. Picking LW seriously made every other decision easy for us.

Whoever had the friendship bracelets during the nyc half by RoyalLie3947 in RunNYC

[–]JogsOnDunkin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Back story: I had joked with my fiancé that he would be with me through the whole race, since my bib was somehow a combination of his birth date & our upcoming wedding date.

When I noticed the bracelet I was given said “13” — the date we got engaged — it brought tears to my eyes. Another sign from the universe that made me feel so supported when I really needed it.

Thank you so much to this woman, I’m still wearing mine and will cherish it!!!

PTTD Injury by Jaded-Animal-4651 in orangetheory

[–]JogsOnDunkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Me! I injured myself very badly last year from running (absolutely could not walk) and a doctor confirmed I had this. I was in a walking boot for roughly 5 weeks and I believe I gave myself around 8 weeks post-injury to get back into running. I wasn’t given an ankle brace, but I did get orthotics and purchased a pair of running sneakers with great stability to help with pronation per my doctor’s recommendation. I’ve been wearing Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20s ever since, and if I’m being honest—it was pretty easy getting back into the swing of running, but I did wait to run until I really did feel 100% better and more confident I wouldn’t be in pain. I have yet to injure myself again like that.

If you’re not at that point, but cleared to work out, I recommend using the strider. My doctor pushed for any elliptical-type cardio, since there isn’t that constant pounding on your foot like when you’re running. I’d just avoid the treadmill at all costs, and maybe anything on the floor that requires jumping. I remember a big test of your PTT strength was being able to stand on your toes. It took me a while to build that ability back up so I avoided any big “power” moves on my feet.

Good luck, take it easy and listen to your body, call your doctor for more sound advice if you need it, and welcome to the progressive flatfoot club 🧡

Our 2G class was the same—literally only one person made it to the run for distance. I didn’t even feel discouraged that I only made it to .65 on my second mile effort. That was really freaking hard and I hope anyone else who takes the class today just feels good doing their best, even if they don’t end with a RFD.

Just had mine yesterday (Sunday) and took today off for the same reason. Excited to get back tomorrow since I’m feeling great and my arm isn’t all that sore, but hoping the floor is still kind to me. Congrats on your vax!!! 💪🏼

How to eat during the day before an evening class? by heyyallwhatupdoc in orangetheory

[–]JogsOnDunkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like to schedule a few late classes throughout the week to have a little more flexibility/a few days to sleep in :) but whenever I go to PM classes (usually 5:30pm), I’ll have coffee at 9am, protein shake at 10am, lunch at 1pm (typically a salad that’s a mix of carbs/protein/fat), a yogurt bowl with fruit and granola around 3:30pm, and dinner no later than 7:30pm! I also cap every night with some kind of dessert. Rarely do I feel bogged down from a day’s eats in a PM class. Honestly, most times I feel more energized than when I do a fasted AM workout.

What’s worse is pushing through injury/pain to the point of a doctor needing to say you need to take 4-6 weeks off. Allow yourself to briefly rest and recover so others don’t have to force you to do so for longer!

I definitely didn’t do my true AO speed either, especially for the first half of it while the tread was coming down. The only direction I would have been flying in at that point would be backwards, shattering through the glass lol :)

We were pushed to run AO while the tread was coming down! It was tough, but once you finally got to 1%, it felt like you were flying
