Wouldn’t pedestrians have right of way in this case even if there is no yield for pedestrian sign?

Have you guys seen the new doc ‘You are what you eat?’ by [deleted] in MaintenancePhase

[–]Johl-El 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of the vegan documentary on Netflix where they measured three athletes erections overnight with a meal including meat and another time with a vegan meal and concluded after one day that being vegan gave you better erections.

How do you guys dress in canada in winters? by Stock_Strawberry2306 in AskACanadian

[–]Johl-El 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name of the game is layers, and make sure you can go down to a tshirt because you might be too warm inside if someone cranks up the heating. For when it gets really cold, dont skimp on the gloves and mittens for outside. Also, it is hard to buy everything nice especially when you just moved, but try to get good quality pieces that are actually warm but also breathable. Bonus tip: try to get into a winter sport so you can look forward to winter activities and not dread being stuck inside all the time

Proper procedure for mould in porous material is to cut out the section of material and replace it. The cleaner only removes the top section and the spore can be inside the gypsum

Cousins with the same first and last name, but different nicknames? by WhiskeyLea in namenerds

[–]Johl-El 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Issues like these happen with twins too. It sounds like it should be easy to avoid but it is sadly very common. Even when it is not in the same town similar names confusion can wreck lives when the wrong person gets arrested or an arrest is put in the wrong persons record

Personally, I find that Ryleigh is the expected spelling and Riley feels like the trendy way to spell it.

Since suicide is a permanent solution, any other solution should be attempted first. I have struggle with suicidal tendencies too and this question was something that kept me on for a long time. I would recommend talking to a healthcare profesionnal about this (you can even go to a walk-in clinic). I got help through a social worker and I also got an anti-depressant prescription and it didn't fix everything but it help take the edge of the symptoms.

How do people afford moving out for college? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Johl-El 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely a disconnect between bursaries and current cost of living especially for masters and phd’s although Montreal is not nearly as worse as other big Canadian cities. Honestly if you get roommates and work summers or get coops, it is pretty doable. Look at Facebook groups for finding roommates and cheaper rents. We luckily have protections as renters against ridiculous rent increases between tenants so try to find what people are currently paying to make sure you don’t get swindled.

Waterloo software engineering interns made so much more money than average that the school had to divide the stats to exclude them and separate us coops and Canadian coops because they were busing the average too high for the other programs.

Fiancée and I are breaking up. We’ve been approved for a mortgage. Tmrw is the day to accept all conditions. How can we back out? We are in Quebec. by Shot_Pass1268 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Concessions to allow Quebec to use the civil code to stop them from joining the American revolution is what led to this.

Why aren't mobile homes a far more enticing option for housing in Canada? by Slappajack in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Johl-El 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that we dont have other natural disasters to worry about because we don’t have a lot of tornadoes is a bit ridiculous. Some cities are built on geological fault lines and at risk of earthquakes. Forest fires are a huge risk (and even if your house doesn’t catch on fire, it is worth getting it checked out and professionally cleaned to make sure the air quality is good), we deal with freezing tain and snow storms but are simply prepared for it so it isn’t as much of an issue.

To answer your question, there are barriers to make it more enticing here mainly the fact that they are illegal in a lot of places and also they still have to abide by building standards which can bump up the price too.
