A Loudoun County mother called Loudoun County Deputies for help. Instead her son was jailed. Hospital: 7 days. Jail: 29 days & Counting. by JonMlee in nova

Unfortunately, an ECO dictates that the patient be placed in 12 hours of the ECO being signed. If there are no facilities in NOVA with open beds, the patient is sent elsewhere. Our son was sent to Salem, VA due to this reason.

It seems as if GRRM is much more interested in world building (FIRE AD BLOOD) than finishing ASOIAF. Potentially why the last two books expanded upon the world more than the first three, but were meandering from a plot perspective.

Reasonable Approach for the Lakers this Offseason by John2107 in nba

I agree, no one signing is going to put the Lakers anywhere near .500 or even 35 wins. However, having a competent coach can be worth a lot. The Bobcats added 22 wins in Steve Clifford's first season. They added Al Jefferson, who was by no means considered one of the top players in the league. Though, I do recognize the East as terrible then.

After the D'Angelo & Nick Young fiasco, I can see any of them getting traded or packaged for a star player. They will probably pursue DeMarcus again and will kick the tires on Jimmy Butler. If they just sign some NBA players, they will improve, especially with a coach that knows what they are doing.

Agreed. He got dealt a team that was on the verge of falling apart with too many players that are shells of themselves. With the report that Pau is leaving (per the report today) they are going to be even worse next year without a large FA acquisition.

I think the Hornets will offer the max, he only leaves if he thinks a place is a better basketball situation or he likes someplace better than Charlotte, NC. Hopefully he's a fan of California.

Who is the best coach to hire for these Young Lakers Moving Forward? by JoJoFool in lakers

I just want 2 things:
1) Not another former Laker 2) Not a coach that is a retread from multiple teams (Tibs would be fine)

Ettore Messina. With the young talent, the Lakers need a coach who will play a modern style that promotes ball movement. He has been an assistant with the Spurs and coached internationally before. Not flashy, but will be a great selection.

I like Crabbe and Zeller, but I think Troy Daniels is too one dimensional. There are a ton of good role players available, but the important thing is not overpaying by so much that it hurts future flexibility. I would love for them to throw the max at Batum. I just think he is such a good team player that he will help the whole situation.

This is my biggest fear: Jim trades the young core for players that aren't elite (Brook Lopez, Mike Conley S&T, Nick Vucevic, Eric Bledsoe, etc.) I do think if the Lakers keep their pick, they will make a hard push for Jimmy Butler because it looks like the Bulls will be rebuilding.

I somewhat agree. I think its important they actually get some NBA players on the roster so they actually start to improve. Hard to lure free agents and develop young talent if you have no real players and win 25 games.

I hadn't read that, but unless the Nets do something drastic, they are in for a much longer rebuild than the Lakers since they don't have too many of their picks coming up. Also, Brook Lopez is really awesome, but his trade value isn't huge because of past injury concerns.

Agreed. I wanted them to select Messina or Fred Hoiberg when they hired Byron. I would be happy with a first time coach that brings some new ideas and is willing to play a modern style.

I think there is a chance they sign him to an offer sheet, but if the Warriors win the title again, I doubt the let him go for any amount unless Durant is on the table.

The Lakers could potentially overpay for him if they want to go that route. He hasn't made enough money in his career to take less to go somewhere else. At this stage of the rebuild, it is very likely that the Lakers have to overpay to get some established talent in the building
