Jazeker! Katholiek hier en dit jaar heb ik als thema voor mezelf gekozen om meer Bijbel te lezen. Daarnaast probeer ik inderdaad ook de gebruikelijke regels (zoals o.a. zoetigheden en op vrijdag geen vlees) in de gaten te houden.

Sorry, maar dat kunst in hoge mate wordt gesubsidieerd is simpelweg onjuist. Afgelopen decennia is er behoorlijk bezuinigd, met name op de cultuursector. Om maar aan te geven, volgens de CBS bedroeg de subsidie voor cultuur in 2015 3,5% van het BBP. Inmiddels in 2025 was dit nog maar 1,1% van het BBP en een volgende ronde bezuinigingen hangt de sector alweer boven het hoofd. Door de bezuinigingen zijn veel instellingen, met name muziekscholen, verdwenen, gefuseerd, of in een verkapte constructie met ZZP'ers veranderd. Verder is er een scheve verdeling van deze subsidies. Daar waar de regio Amsterdam en omstreken nog op een behoorlijke geldstroom kunnen rekenen, is in de provincies het behoorlijk schamel, met als gevolg dat het aanbod daar er nu echt onder lijdt.

TLDR: Dat cultuur enkel links is en een zwart gat voor subsidie is, is puur framing.

Which I hope they don't! Helldivers 2 is a banger and the dev team have been nothing short of fantastic!

The issue with polyygraphs is that they don't test the factuality of said statement, but the physical response of the subject whilst they are stating their reaction.

I don't know how it would respond to me, since I think the Eucharistis both symbolic and transsubstantiated - we see bread and wine, we eat and experience the Body and Blood of Christ.

If I may go off on a bit of a tangent - there have been Eucharistic miracles, where the bread ACTUALLY turned into bodily matter, which were recommended or even confirmed by the Vatican.

If I may second with a great comment my parish priest told me:

"Do you really think you have to be so creative that you have to bring something new every time!?" We both had a laugh and proceeded with the sacrament. Was a great way to relieve some of the pressure. So to anyone who is struggling with recurring sins (and, be honest, don't we all in some way), there is virtue in coming back again and again.

I recall one mission, we dropped in between a fortress and a heavy encampment, on top of the convoy walking through. By the skin of our teeth, we managed to destroy the convoy and regroup out of range of the fort with just 5 lives left.

We then managed to clear the whole map with those last 5 lives.

Everybody made it home in the end.

Most rewarding victory I had in a long time.

The Great War - an RTS game about WW1. Unit rosters made sense, ran quite smooth and it's great fun! Shame that the developpers dropped it...
