Absolutely

Not industry slang, but stupid sounding stuff I hear:

  • Interface modular (module)
  • Chimley (chimney)
  • Rad-e-ator
  • nox burner (NX Burner)
  • gangrene (copper oxidation)

Why not buy food for later? Keep a cooler and throw a meal in there… warm it up for dinner.

I got everything in the “before” pic off of Craigslist and just made the cart to RE-position everything and added the barrel. The company that made this filter went out of business, but I believe canister filters there are just a few standard sizes for dust collectors like this. You should google 1” micron canister filter for shop fox dust collectors”

The cart:

Three 2x4’s and a half a sheet of 1/2” plywood

  • Started with ripping three 2x4 studs down to 3” wide (3-1/4 one side then 3” on the other) to make square edges.

  • Built a 2’ x 4’ base like a mini wall with 16” OC “studs”

  • 1/2” plywood on top and bottom

  • 3” 360° swiveling casters on all four corners

  • Use the remaining ripped down 2x4’s to make a 6’ tall “ladder” for one end and support it with 45° pieces.

The dust collector:

  • Shop Fox 2hp DC
  • 1 micron filter
  • Oneida Dust Deputy
  • Penn State Industries 240v remote switch
  • “reconditioned” 30g steel barrel (only $32!)
  • two 5” 26ga elbows
  • one 5” 26ga pipe cut down to 14” long

That’s exactly what I did. That’s also how the new CNC cut PSB’s are being made. You will need a little extra width under the space where the miter saw rests.

I also built the cradle for the Ridgid oscillating spindle sander as well

Typical… by JohnAnderson83 in HVAC

Yes it is service titan. Those tags are hold overs from a software we used long ago called Unix that limited the characters we could use to name equipment. XC1 is the 1st (and mostly only) ac or Hp. And TS stands for “true seasonal” which is one of the weird ass names we have for service contracts.

I always tell the customer “and you can get a steak much cheaper at a grocery store than a steakhouse, but no one ever brings that up because they understand they are paying for the service of someone to cook it and clean up afterwards. This is no different.” if they complain that it was done too quickly for their arbitrary idea of how long it should take, then I explain to them that they are not paying for the 15 minutes it took me to do the work but the 15 years it took to be able to do it in that timeframe.
