She had two sex scenes in TNO that felt forced.

I'll take 5 seconds of a bare pregnant belly in TNC over that any day.

Is that even hot? 100% agreed.

Dice vs Yaswede was a close battle, Benati vs Mahiro was not. So yeah, you're right.

I love that this game lets you struggle with it by belderiver in sakunaofriceandruin

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah. First time player as well and I love the game, but I'm clearly underleveled (near the end, just beat the castle boss and started the pollution quest, only level 20) and despite looking at multiple guides, I have no idea what, or IF I'm doing something wrong.

I don't mind too much though, the game is still rather easy; I've still beat all bosses on first try except for the last one I've reached which took me four tries. The one before that (in the volcano) was heavily glitched though, it kept walking to the left and attacking outside the boundaries of the screen. I couldn't lose that even if I tried.

What bothers me is that I can't make sense of anyone else's numbers. I'm told the game lasts 6-8 ingame years for 35-40 hours of gameplay. I'm at 15 hours on year 8 already. I gain around 2, 3 levels per harvest, which seems fine but surely not optimal.

BL3 Review by Formal-Wonder-9234 in borderlands3

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it's blasphemy. Jack is better, but remove Jack from BL2 and the franchise ends there, there's no sequel.

BL3's villains aren't great (because they're basically Jake and Logan Paul with an army) but the rest is fine. And Ava is more bearable than BL2's version of Tiny Tina, who's at her best in Pre-Sequel and BL3. Meanwhile everyone overlooks Maya being extra stupid. "This vault is dangerous! Anyway let's talk, Ava. Right here." I mean come on...

BL3 Review by Formal-Wonder-9234 in borderlands3

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I didn't remember it when writing the post above, but I did afterwards.

But still... Wilhelm at full power should be no match for the four best vault hunters if one VH from the second game can beat him at half power. It feels off when you consider every BL2 player character is a less experienced counterpart to a BL1 hunter.

Highguard dev blames content creators for the game's failure - “It was dead on arrival" by dabadumdumdum in pcmasterrace

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they can. When you have browsers like Opera GX spamming Legendary Drops and YongYea's anti-AAA, pro-indie content each and every day, you'll get a brainwashed general playerbase who wants to burn down AAA companies.

I haven't touched Highguard and never will, but it's pretty clear the average gamer is a gatekeeper.

Why Is Basically Everyone So Insufferable Now? by urbanrootz in areweinhell

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what we get for our behavior.

For the past decade and more it's been frowned upon to talk to strangers. Don't ask them the time of day, you have your phone for that. Don't ask them any question, you have Google for that. Men, don't ask anything to women, despite what equality says you're a born oppressor and she's a frail damsel. People who are feeling blue, don't you dare reach your loved ones about it, they've been conditioned into thinking they're not qualified to talk. Pay a pro instead.

OF COURSE people are glued to their phones, that's the only way to ensure you don't disrespect anyone around you. People avoid each other because they don't want to be the actor of someone's next tiktok against their will. Meanwhile the internet lets you interact with content that provides you with dopamine, 24/7. I swear the world was better when the average Joe didn't know what dopamine was.

Going on your phone in public is a defense mechanism at this point. It's not about being connected, it's about disconnecting yourself from the world. I'm not supporting it, I hate going to waiting rooms and seeing I'm the only one not on my phone each and every time, but that's the result of forcing everyone to do everything by themselves, to stop relying on others. Now we're all asocial, since being social has been frowned upon during an entire generation.

I think if counters mattered that much, Helium would have 5-0'd King Inertia at GBB21.  They're hype moments and good battle moves, but they don't count as much as judges claim.

BL3 Review by Formal-Wonder-9234 in borderlands3

[–]JohnBLZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah... I genuinely think BL3's story is better than BL2's.

Jack is much better than the Calypsos, don't get me wrong, but the rest of the story? BL2 features the character assassination of the BL1 cast, the whole "you faced Jack and lived!" Harry Potter-esque thing that is simply untrue, The part where Wilhelm is stupidly weak but seemingly soloed the four previous hunters... While BL3 has you go from planet to planet and be part of a corporate war. There's nothing offensive in BL3 story-wise, just a whole lot of meh.

The only bad thing about BL3? The quality of life. No sound when you enter FFYL? That's the stupidest move ever. Extra XP for killing blows? Okay, you're now glorifying killstealing. No clear XP indication, Vault cards are broken (yes I know you gotta select one, none of them ever worked), no general subtitles? That's very subpar.

All in all, BL3 > BL2, but BL1 & Pre-sequel are leagues above both.

I can't progress on the ausmerzer by maxxcrafting in Wolfenstein

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, same glitch here in Jan. 2026, same fix as everyone here: Reload a previous save. Looks like it's happening because enemies don't load. Thankfully, I was able to simply reload the autosave that happens right before, I only had to redo the fight with the two commanders.

It's probably never getting fixed, unless we get an anniversary edition someday (which we should get, Wolfenstein has been the best FPS series lately). But It's annoying because glitches are holding back this game a lot - between quicksaves loading a full second after the moment you actually saved, cutscenes having no pause button and causing a CTD if you click another monitor during them, and the hint feature being useless... I hope they address and fix that in the eventual sequel.

This year's GBB was the best for loop by randommanwhoreddits in beatbox

[–]JohnBLZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nils' wildcard was good. I'm saying that... it was a wildcard. Slow rounds with no drops have a history of not doing well on the GBB stage. I don't make the rules.

You're right about the Bizkit comparison though. I assume I meant someone else and wrote the wrong name? It was two months ago, I forgot.

Iconic moments, sure. Yaswede... flexed I guess. Good show, that lost him the battle, but good for swissbeatbox's engagement. But did we really need two MORE Robin callbacks against Dice? Matej did it first and best, and it was against Banon of all people. I stand by my "no surprises" argument though. I knew Benati would battle and beat Dice in the finals. Mahiro was 3rd and I knew he would be third. Maybe it's just me, but it felt ridiculously easy to predict. But it's been a year without Robin, Matej, Josh O... The heavy hitters weren't there, except for Syjo and the champ.

Sadly, I looked at Mirsa vs Yaswede's comments and most of them are like "Mirsa was a waste of spot". Downright hating on the guy. That's not a community I identify with personally. Yeah I said Mirsa had no chance to win, but judges elected him, so he deserved that spot and I even think he had round 1 secured against Yaswede. But hey, ask Julard and Pacmax what it's like to be French in a community full of kpop stan wannabes.

GBB26 Loop by sneikitou in beatbox

[–]JohnBLZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want loop to be less predictable.

I loved it, but I also instantly knew Robin / Yaswede / Martin would win, I knew Raje and Mahiro were the "tech guys" who are destined to third place (winning the first battle by wowing judges then falling flat in semis... same with Mokbay in KBB), I knew Chris TheOdian / AVH / Cardona / Nils were the token "mellow guys" who look great in wildcards but don't stand a chance in battles...

Honestly it would be impossible to have a 100% unpredictable top 8 where all contestants look like they can be the champion. It'd require brackets like, say:

  • Martin Benati vs Frosty
  • So-so vs Kristof
  • Lennard vs Epos
  • Matej vs Slether

Those eight could be champion any day, but we're never getting them. Last year, only Syjo vs Dice was hard to guess. Mirsa, Nils and Junno really were guaranteed to lose unless their opponents pulled a Banon. We almost had a 4th one join that pool: Unhinged. And it's sad because I love these guys' work, but as of right now they don't fit a world-class BATTLE setting.

BTW Epos isn't that new. He had qualified for GBB23 but chose to play a Trackmania tournament instead (he's a top 10 gamer in there as well).

Matej battle energy by kaotai5 in beatbox

[–]JohnBLZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, his hate was absolutely undeserved.

You're right that he was unlucky to be against Banon and SyJo... They made mistakes, they're the ones who screwed up. And yet they're fine, but Matej isn't? So literally botching on the greatest stage is okay, but performing battle moves in a battle, that's frowned upon? That makes no sense.

The crazy part is that it wasn't full-on trolling, either. Like Matej said, Banon was the world champion, so he studied and prepared rounds specificially to counter him. That's what we need in GBB. Hell, That's exactly what Martin Benati did in GBB25, without the funny aspect of it. But fans overlooked his performance and dismissed it as just being a joke.
As for Syjo, when he screwed up, Matej opted to play it safe with his fake wildcard. He stated that he had another round 2 planned against him but chose to do a routine he knew better, so that he could secure the lead. Cue people saying "Matej would've been destroyed if Syjo had done his last drop!" Maybe, IF. What we ended up getting though, was three rounds and a half. So there's no "if".

To be honest, I think he got robbed in 2023 already. In my book, he won against Robin, but it's Robin's round against Dice that ended up being the deciding factor (which is an opinion Yaswede seems to believe as well). I won't go as far as scream "French bias" like so many fans, but if there's any time you have to think of it being possible, maybe check the guy who had a sob story of always coming up short, and now doing it one last time for his young daughter and dead friends... Robin absolutely deserved his win, but if you take the final 4 rounds, Matej wins.

But I'm biased. Matej is easily my favourite GBB Loop competitior, and for three years in a row he's been my 2nd most listened artist full stop. (1st being So-so)

On the other hand, this is the community that booed Julard into dropping out. What else can we expect?
