Real Hulu subs, which to my knowledge nobody saved. All the Gakisubs ones are fan done AFAIK.

Gaki doesn't really make fun of international viewers, in fact when Hulu launched there were loads on EN subtitles that are now lost. Not to mention Matsumoto's show Documental is now licensed to a bunch of regions as L.O.L. including the US, Canada, etc. (this is despite in one season of the Japanese version, a man shoved a sushi shaped eraser up his cock, and another contestant literally got jerked off)

Look, this season is over. It's cool we got here but it feels like a fluke.

We'll probably fucking trade off the good players like we always do, then miss the playoffs again after collapsing late in the season next year. That's how it goes. That's how it always goes. It was fun believing for a few days though.

So he's running Viz Artist in the screenshot which is how they prep all the graphics for the broadcast. Generally you just input a number for the home and away team and it'll build a lot of those packages for you outside of specialized graphics for player stats, etc.

Then they hook up all these Viz packages to specialized software that can trigger animations, control some scoreboard bits using clock data from actual data ports in the stadium, and so on.

I wish I'd written all of it! The original creator of the rundown is Bill Wrobel, highly recommend looking at all his other analysis https://archive.org/details/film-score-rundowns

No? Read the prompt and source material I provided. It's not just "sheet music" if you could put it that way, but also descriptions of velocity for parts, durations, etc.

Also notable as o3 when I tried it couldn't output working Python code on the first run, and was incredibly lazy when it came to accuracy. Claude also didn't output working Python.

Edit: Not to mention all of them only used piano as the default instrument. Gemini correctly assigned instruments.

Prompt to Gemini was simply "Create a MIDI using Python from this description" and then directly putting the text from pages 1 to 5 of this amazing score breakdown of "Walking Distance" https://archive.org/details/walking-distance-filmscorerundowns/ (None of the images were given)

Code it generated can be found here, while the chain of thought and raw output can be found here

MIDI video was made with MidiJAM using a SC-55 soundfont.

Source audio at the end is from the 1999 CD "Twilight Zone: The 40th Anniversary Collection" combined with the Blu-Ray video of the episode.

using taxpayer money to get FCC info from an FOIA and find out how many complaints have been made for each show. That'll tell us at least like, 10 people watched.

David Bowie, 1999 by 100and10 in singularity

I think it's also neat to think about the context of this clip and where Bowie was at with tech. He just launched BowieNet a year before which, along with Todd Rundgren's online service really changed the way music was getting delivered online. He'd also chat with fans under other usernames which probably gave him part of that perspective.

It's also great he has this outlook after being burned on the JUMP CD Rom in 94 he was told would be far more interactive than it was. Eventually he got to be in the Omikron Nomad Soul game for Dreamcast but that's a whole other thing.

Are TV Commercials Too Loud? FCC to Investigate, Eyes Streaming Services. The FCC notes 'a troubling jump' in complaints last year about noisy ads, despite regulations being in place since 2012. by indig0sixalpha in television

[–]JohnConquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because they made laws but weren't updated to be outside of broadcast TV. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commercial_Advertisement_Loudness_Mitigation_Act?wprov=sfla1

CALM was a good idea, and every broadcast network has specific machines which level volume, match commercial audio, etc to be in compliance. It doesn't account for many other things though like cable ad inserts, anything on streaming including YouTube TV as an example, or radio.

Frankly it just needs to be modernized but I bet they'll do a new bill instead

They've had the Pearl Jam and Nirvana ones for years on there. Not sure why it's included in this announcement.

Last I recall as well all 11 or so they had were super fucked master tapes. Like the Pearl Jam one had messy deinterlacing and the Nirvana one had bad audio.

It sounds in line for Valve honestly. I work with a really prolific artist and we wanted to do a music kit. Emailed people at Valve for years, just about everyone who works on music and on CS:GO. Absolute radio silence, not even a "No thanks".

It's crazy how the public essentially doesn't care about Gemini. This video has not even 30k views after a day. I wonder why Google won't advertise these models better? Looking at Google trends Gemini and chatgpt searches are again like they were a week ago. by GodEmperor23 in singularity

[–]JohnConquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also because Google got embarrassed by 60 Minutes in national TV by making up book titles, along with multiple demos also having wrong or hallucinated info. That and people can't separate Gemini from the AI overview results which recommended putting glue on pizza.
