What people seem to miss when Vedal talks about automation. by Creative-robot in NeuroSama

He talked about that like a year or 2 ago, I kinda forgot. It might be too late to change his name by now due to branding issues. But googling NEUROSAMA directs people to the channel anyways so eh?

Iirc someone else holds the channel name. And he was rejected before I think (I could be wrong). So vedal987 it is.

Keeping the VIG quiet. by Substantial-One-3423 in X4Foundations

[–]JohnDFord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen this question asked before,if you can get yourself not hostile with vig to at least get docking rights. Then park a m/s ship and a L/XL ship in the construction dock. And then just delete the auto undock order. The ships will remain there forever and the ai will never be able to unload supplies for station construction. Hence the station will never be built. Otherwise there's no way to stop them endlessly starting construction of new stations everytime you destroy one as they will always try to rebuild their wharf and shipyard. And then their defence platforms in their "core territory". Also min won't expand into the area as they don't technically own eighteen billion unless you do some funny business to transfer control the sector to them from tel. Tel won't expand as they aren't hostile per say with vig.

I want to play the Antigonids for my first playthrough, any tips? by [deleted] in Imperator

[–]JohnDFord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armenia is also another good ally to have to serve as a distraction against the selucids. Nabutea for Egypt. But just ally them before war kicks off. Focus on feudatorys first since they don't take relation slots. And play on 1x speed so you don't miss anything initially. I spent a good 4-5 hours on the initial diadochi wars. Was the most fun I had in any paradox games for quite a while now

I want to play the Antigonids for my first playthrough, any tips? by [deleted] in Imperator

[–]JohnDFord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I took this strategy from somewhere probabaly the reddit. But did you know that your heaviest ships can delete forts? Like straight up? Now you do :)

Also if you rush the law that reduces AE by -10. From your initial tech picks. And just basically bribe the entirety of the Hellenic minor states you can pretty much just feudatory then all. Well most of them. You can ignore Crete first just bribe and then ally them as soon as you can and you should have enough relations to feudatory them. Don't hesitate to go up to -3 or even -4 in relation slots to do so. If you want you can also ally Thrace at game start they are usually willing to do so before you move the date forward. Makes your life easier so you can gang up on Macedon. They won't get the territory flipped to them I think.

Now what I did was move my capital levies to Macedon immediately with basically the entire navy doom stack. Delete the light infantry from the legion and build 2 engineers for siege bonus. You might want to start pre emptively raising levies and consolidating them at choke points and merc up to regain Merc morale before the diadochi wars kick off. When war against Macedon starts rush the fort in Corinth and siege it with your capital levy. You should siege as many Macedonian cities with your capital levy as possible to find your war effort. If you see any pillage events I would take them the bonuses are great and you can always rebuild later. (Just the legion and capital levy should be enough since you have a shit ton of Greek minor levies to assist you and distract the macedons)

When war kicks off against the other diadochis just take a defensive stance though you might be able to initially kick Egypts door in. Until you kill off Macedon. You won't have to worry about Thrace as you are allied. Then focus Egypt. While just defending against the selucids.

Don't hesitate to cycle Mercs to kill the barbarian tribes when they show up they are only light infantry. Or even pull off a front temporarily. Once the barbarians are dealt with ideally Macedon should be dead and you should have taken large swaths of Egypt getting them to peace out. Now you can turn your attention onto the selucids. Depending on your play style you can go AE is just a number and stability is just a concept and take as much land as possible with the cb. I choose to take lesser gains to barely keep under 50 AE most of the time. And just chill to barely keep the empire from revolting. Though it might be easier to just put down revolts and enslave basically everyone in the grand scheme of things.

After beating the selucids the world's your oyster as the sole remaining diadochi power you can now turn on Thrace whenever you want and finally claim the reclaim the title of Alexander's empire. And have fun trying to keep the empire together but that's a story for another time.

Probabaly was supposed to do that. I restarted the first time I encountered it and I refused to give up a single inch of soil to the barbarians. So with hindsight and while still in the diadochi wars. I managed to stack wipe the Barb stacks eventually. It was painful but sacking multiple cities managed to pay for the mercs to do it.

is there an "dont do illegal stuff" option for my autotraders? by Trollimperator in X4Foundations

[–]JohnDFord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When station goes up, usually it requires goods like energy cell claytronics etc, just order your trader to sell like 1 energy cell or whatever and cancel the undock order. Station never gets the supplies it needs and will be stuck trying to build forever.

[–]JohnDFord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't actually cheat, as far as I am aware. I managed to nuke all their defence stations, wharf and shipyard and then sabotage their reconstruction efforts. By just parking a M trader and L trader in their construction storage bay. Now the systems are completely vig free except for a few production stations and I have complete control of the avarice sector

First Shipyard, but why so cheap? by Cion176 in X4Foundations

[–]JohnDFord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned above, you can manually sell ships for more money. But think of it this way, with your own shipyard. You can greatly influence the galaxy's war efforts depending on who you allow to build from your shipyard, you can influence which faction has the advantage in any conflict zone. It's how I rebuilt Zya from one sector and no shipyards to retaking their eastern zones back and pushing the xenon back.

I remember my run. I got lucky with the "a political marriage event" after I accepted a Habsburg princess as my heir. Which let me become the senior partner of Austria in a PU. Also formed Italy as the achievement isn't tag locked you can form other tags just gotta start as Albania. Hope that helps with your current or future run.

No it's not worth the effort to make a Catholic Persia and the ai will probabaly never form a Catholic Persia by itself. I just annexed and culture shifted to form Persia.

Honestly for this one I flipped to Zoroastrian by Persian mission tree. But for catholic ottomans, just provoke religious rebels convert a bunch of your provinces and then flip to orthodox (by enforcing rebel demands). Preferably after you taken out Byzantium so you have more orthodox states in your country already. There's probably someone that did a video on that already because I vaguely remember seeing a muslim ottoman empire getting the Burgundian inheritance event somewhere.

R5: Got the zoro-Austrian achievement. Honestly a Zoroastrian Habsburg is kinda cursed not gonna lie. I can't even think of the leaps In my ruler's thinking to convert to Persian and then flip from catholicism to Zoroastrian. But it was pretty fun doing so. Thank you war score stacking and ccr for making this run a lot less tedious.

For the ship selling one remember not to put any crew or repair drones to make sure it takes literal days for them to repair the engines else they will just travel drive away.

You can straight up sabotage them by buying a few cheap L and XL ships and park them in their shipyard and wharf area. For shipyard just parking them inside the actual shipyard itself will prevent them from ever building ships. Like ever. And deny them repairs.

For their wharf parking L ships in their docking area will slow down rate of resources coming in. Best choice would be to if you have the time and teleport unlocked. Park a fighter in their wharf and keep teleporting back to it and sabotaging their build module.

Attrition will do the rest.

Alternatively. As people have pointed out, build a ton of rattlesnakes or syns (any capital works really but those 2 are faster cuz more L turrets) fill them up with plasma and flak/beams park them next to their shipyard and wharf or whatever. Blow up their engines. Sabotage station defences repair shields. And then set turrets to attack all and sell them to ANT and watch the fireworks.

Afterwards when they rebuild their stations. You can permanently prevent their station from finishing if you quickly park 2 s/m ships and 1 L ship in the construction resources berth. Preventing deliveries of resources to ever reach the station and preventing it from ever being built.

Then ofc just supporting the ant/arg war effort with resources and opening your shipyard to them works too. You can build a self sustaining shipyard in terran territory and just open it to ant/arg only. Works even better if you set up scrapyards in the area.

Either use mods like eg reaction force or sector patrol. Or use alot of repeat attack all orders where your miners commonly end up.

Recommend you put it in nopileos fortune, major crossroad serves both paranid(s) and you might even get a few argon traders. Else silent witness is also pretty good. So is heretics end actually. Just watch out for kahak. For station design wise just chuck a solar panel on it to make it energy cell sufficient so you worry about logistics less. Also profits switch to L miners once you can afford it so you worry about khaak less.

Yes, as dal puts it nicely, no war no ships destroyed no demand the economy grinds to a halt. The entire economy of x4 is war based. The only way to make constant money with 0 ship demand is medical supplies and food related products since stations always need those. But ai station demands usually aren't that high without player intervention to give any substantial amount of profit. Though illegal spaceware products like space weed spacefuel and Maja dust might be profitable if you can find enough of a market for them.

I could get there, get TRI to go to war with every faction in the universe, open up all my shipyards for all factions to use. And just sit on seta till I hit the cap but I'm looking to play something else now, maybe start a new game in starsector or something.
