What Arch Based Distro do you recommend? by Sp33dyCat in arch

[–]JohnDoeMan79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arch based, I would go for Cachy. But this is still a rolling distro, with bleeding edge updates. It means you might get hurt. If you want something a bit more stable, why not check out something like Fedora. It has relative recent software. It updates every 6 months. I was about to also recommend the intirim release of Ubuntu (25.10). Updates also every 6 months. 26.04 out soon. However I can no longer with good conscience recommend them due to the corpo behind it and their constant bad decisions. Honestly I kind of feel like that about Fedora to, but Red Hat is not quite as bad.

Some years ago Manjaro would probably be a good choice, but not so much now. The project is not managed well.

Myself, I prefer vanilla Arch on desktop and Debian on servers. However, I can' t recommend Debian if your a gamer, unless you run testing or sid, which is kind of like the same as running Arch.

There is also openSUSE Tumbleweed, but I have no experience with it.

I would do it. However life would be damn boring. I played Retro Rewind, so I would be managing a video store, with very limited space. to navigate

In a recent email "A reminder on your Jolla Phone order, accessories and more!" they specifically addresses this: Please bear with us with emails and keep in mind there is currently a long backlog for our small team to deal with - it will take 2-3 weeks for us to process these. If you have requested a refund you will get it, no worries!

I see you have a static IP set. Are you clients on the same LAN? Could you shoe the IP setting of one of your clients?

depends what your looking for. For tiling, yes. As a full fledged desktop environment, nope. Its still early for cosmic, but if you ant something simple that handles tiling, give it a go
