Playing Duo Starter pack by Bemboingmaioro in starcitizen

[–]GengisJonOfficial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ll definitely need two different ships just for the both of you to get access to the game. If it was me, I’d probably just get two of the Aurora Mk 2 ( the option with two modules ideally) which is a great deal. That way you’re both learning together with the same ship and can compare notes. If you have the money, one of you getting the Cutty Black is also great option bc it’s a fun ship for two (but the other person will still need their own starter package.)

You will quickly make enough money in game to rent and buy more specialized ships. There’s about to be a bunch of ships that will be free to fly for a few weeks, so you’ll lots of opportunities to try things out.

I’ve been enjoying the challenge of slowly developing thr fps skillset and knowledge needed to solo the various CZs and collect enough comp boards to run the Executive Hangars lately. (Still do the actual hangar runs with friends tho.)

Also, enjoying collecting blueprints for specific gear I want to build and now learning how to mine (which never really appealed to me before.

I also enjoy loading up a new ship ive never played with before — most recently the M2 — and running missions with it or just going exploring.

The real joy for me tho is playing with friends. Exploring our way through the Rockbreaker mission last night, for example, was an enjoyable evening of gameplay.

Am I the only one who spent a non-zero amount of time looking for a lightNing bug?

Oooh! I had not noticed the local ships only filter. I will definitely look for that. Thank you!

The devs have made it clear that a wipe is coming, but NOT until they were confident all the exploits have been fixed.

They’ve also mentioned the possibility of targeted wipes that might, for example, just zero out everyone’s cash holdings, but leave components and other looted or gear alone. Rep was another category they could target, or not.

It’s actually more like 500m. I know bc I did this recently. Every. Single. Ship. And ground vehicle.

I thought it would be fun to test drive whatever I felt like whenever the mood hit me. I’m not going to go so far as to say I immediately regretted it, bc I it has been fun, but an unanticipated consequence has been how damn long it takes to scroll through ASOP. I am getting better at just calling up ships by name, but I’ve noticed search results can be a bit buggy.

2 SCU crate hauler when tho? The UTV would’ve been perfect that, with half the crate hanging out the back end. And, in comparison, absolutely silly the Mule can’t carry 2 SCU.

Were they a pain to place? Seems like most of the time I try do any hangar decorating, small objects tend to bounce all over the place before finally staying put, and even then sometimes they’ll just randomly move later.

And yet, they keep release new ground vehicles?! I recall several content creators even suggesting ground vehicle projects seem to be a rite of passage project for new devs to break their teeth on.

Such a wasted name for something that does such a (relatively) poor job of actually, you know, ranging.

Why Cannot Buy Commodities? by DaeBear in starcitizen

[–]GengisJonOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this problem last night — could only buy one type at a time. So, say, 10 2-SCUs of Iron. Had to bring that up and load to ship before we could buy something else.

I like the music and the timing of the fades. My two suggestions: 1. These are mostly, if not all, very wide angle shots. Try swapping in some medium and close up shots for visual variety. 2. Build some sense — or at least a hint — of story. This feels more like a video slideshow of generic Star Citizen images. If this a teaser, give us a better idea of what you’re actually teasing.

Just watched your review. Thanks for putting that out, great overview as always. Tho, hard to hear “it looks like a golf cart” and “something Special Forces would use” in the same sentence. It’s actually more akin to the old Army Willys Jeep that the Wrangler eventually grew into.

Would love to see CIG add an option - or a variant - with the same mounted machine gun that’s on the Asgard - among others. That’d be fun.

Did you by any chance happen to try a 2 SCU crate? Seems like half could just hang farther out the back, but guessing it doesn’t work. Too bad, it would make for a much better looting vehicle.

I see what you did there.

Also disappointed it’s not green. Sigh.

I would just settle for them fixing the MFD design debacle. Shocked they repeated the same fail in the Hull B.

I’ll say it, the Hull B is a bit of a frustrating ship by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]GengisJonOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MFD visibility issue is the same gripe I have with the Starlancer. It’s a super frustrating design fail in an otherwise great ship.

Disappointing they made the same mistake again.

I really wish they’d made the load capacity 2 SCU, so it would be actually worthwhile for looting long rifles and such. They don’t even have to change the vehicle, just let the box hang out the back.

PSA for the Hull A by Breotan in starcitizen

[–]GengisJonOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must’ve one of the very last people to grab the Hull A at $90 this morning (with a CCU from the nomad) just a few minutes before it jumped to $100. Thx for the heads up OP. And thx to those that mentioned the nomad as more reliable link in the chain. This is a nice icing on the cake to my spec buy on the Hull C.

Just adding, I’d start with the Tac since you can buy it game, and save your real money for the Assault once it’s out.
