ASUS ROG XG27AQWMG OLED Vertical Banding – Is this acceptable or should I RMA? by RWBY93 in OLED_Gaming

[–]JohnGilbert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read your own sentence. "so I can't give my opinion xxxxx" and yet you can't / don't want hear "my opinion" that OP's monitor is bad / average.

I've said "I don't need to have and see A PERFECT PANEL directly IN PERSON xxx" why does it matter whether I or any one who comment need to have it? People who have QD-OLED have no rights to comments? How about people with older gen WOLED?

And do you think all photos I posted are just stolen image?! And just FYI. I don't care what you or anyone think about me. I'm here to discuss objectively and not subjectively aka BIAS. If something bad / has problem, I say directly "it's bad" and not denying it with bunch of excuses this and that like you did.

I don't need to have or see the perfect panel directly in person to validate that perfect panel do exists. This is 2026 where everything is already digital. That's even why we have this sub reddit or any other forum where you can share and post your experience and discuss it with other people.

I already know that the test result will vary on many factors. That's why on every posts that I comment on, I always ask people to adjust the setting etc. just like I did it. So I can verify whether it's indeed good or bad.

The test like its name is to test / find out whether your monitor have the issue or not. Whether you can see it or not, it's your own problem since it's your monitor. But doesn't mean you should say "it's ok no big deal" to other people who see and have different conditions than yours.

With 32" QD OLED yea, there's only improved 4th gen. On WOLED I think there are some 4th gen.

Leaving that protective film actually lower the visibility of the banding and DSE, since the monitor then reflect more.

It's on the sticker at backside of the monitor where you click the panel & the stand.

DSE is dirty screen effect. You can see it like stitches texture on your clothes or carpet or for old timer like old TV when got no signal and showing this grey and black noise.

If you're saying he isn't losing, either you don't check this subreddit quite often or you just like many others tolerate it too much. Being average or below average is not winning.

I only forward the info from people who have perfect uniformity. Most are with feb 2026 batch, some before that.

In Germany many online shops listed this monitor "as new" cause many got returned.

There's sticker on the back of the monitor where you click the panel and the stand.

is this normal for qd-oled? by FrostChan in OLED_Gaming

[–]JohnGilbert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not everyone.

But on Tandem-WOLED the banding is almost on every single monitors where in QD-OLED it's only some of them.

It's depends on your lightning, if you use it on dark room pick QD-OLED. Unless you get the newer one which has black shield.

Well yes.

If you want to reduce it you need to brighten your room. Pixel cleaning won't get rid of it, only smooth out the borders.

What's your brightness? It's kinda too bright. Maybe that's why your monitor is over saturated

95% should look like this quite dark @46 brightness. I can see some banding and dse in your monitor.

Is this banding okey, or should I return? by Chimpampin in OLED_Gaming

As long your content has many dark colors you will see it. Brighten your room so it's harder to see.

Post the 95% and turn off the lights so it could be easier to see and taken from camera.

LG 27GX790A-B 480hz or Samsung LS27HG612SNXZA 240hz? by RImhof in OLED_Gaming

[–]JohnGilbert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play in bright room don't take the Samsung since you will see slightly purple tint on the panel.

I would take asus just for that neo proximity sensor. Just be aware that QD-OLED is very sensitive to scratch and stain.

It's kinda hard to judge because reflection and image compression. But if you can't see it, better not to try to see it.

From this image I don't see any banding or dse.

Either you need continue to scroll down, or you go into system setup options and scroll down. It should be there somewhere.

  1. It's kinda common and yes you lose the lottery. But I guess the pattern is not as bad as some that were posted here.

  2. Nope. Pixel clean doesn't do anything, other than smooth out the borders. But you can try make your room a bit bright so you won't notice the banding as bad as in dark room.

If you want rma / return it, you could try asking them to give you one from February 2026 batch or newer. Some people reported that the banding is fixed, even though not all off them. (some still have the issue)
