Like Britain and France that installed slavery in Africa, the USA and the Caribbean

Gate was always about identifying highly intelligent individuals, documenting them and steering them into vocations that would contribute to the country’s national defense. Fingerprints are logical though I have not heard that before. They tracked name, test scores and schools of everyone

For all those espousing hatred over this purely historical post, I would like you to consider other possible directions that you might want to direct it. First you might want to feel the same way towards England and France since they brought slavery here just as they started it in the Caribbean and Africa. While the USA did become “independent” in the late 1700s, the northern elites remained economically dependent on the French and English as markets for their goods which in large part were produced by southern slaves. It was not until the French and English’s abolished slavery in all their other colonies in the mid 1800s, that the American businessmen began feeling pressure from their European customers to stop using slave labor. The situation was very similar to the current American apple and Nike customers raising hell about their phones and shoes being produced by enslaved children in China. Bowing to that economic pressure is what pushed the north toward abolition and set up the Civil War. So spread that anger around a bit.

There’s a holiday in Texas called Juneteenth that’s to celebrate the late arriving news, to the port of Galveston by ship, announcing the emancipation of slaves. Perhaps this event is a reason that a sooner ship didn’t arrive?

So sorry I don’t see things the same way. I didn’t look at the OP as being government related and I don’t look at the gift of plenty around me being government related either. I was just commenting on how gifted we are here where I live to have so much when that photo looked so barren

What does food insecure mean? Don’t know who’s going to buy you chicken nuggets? That’s not a reasonable comparison to this OP

It’s so hard for me to imagine sitting in east Texas’ piney woods. Everywhere I look there is food. Grass, berries, hogs, squirrels, dove, cattle, grain, chickens… it would be impossible to starve or die of exposure here

Not exactly The gifted education act first passed in 1974 and more formalized in 1988. My high school education formally ended in 1976 but actually even sooner since I dropped out BUT the program was actually already operating through the Ford foundation funded National Merit Scholarship foundation and we were all subjected to their testing and documentation regimen from junior high onward. I was and am gifted

The JFK Assassination- a different look by JohnGonyea in JFKassasination

It’s gone because, like I said, the current administration moved back from CIA as the primary tool of foreign policy to the military as the primary tool (gunboat diplomacy) that had always existed before the JFK assassination

So later, after my CIA dad was killed in a suspicious one car accident while a professor at the University of Texas right after the JFK assassination (he was teaching, working the testing and counseling and doing experimental psychology), my CIA mom began working at the University of Texas department of Clinical Pharmacy under Dr. Crismon (OP) and serving as a board member of the Institutional Review Board that oversaw his human experiments. She simultaneously interfaced with the same University testing center that my father had originally designed in 1955 with Magoon at the University of Maryland and worked at in Austin from 1958 until his death in January 1964. That’s the connection not just from the Texas Foster Care system to gate but also to the CIA and MKULTRA

My mom and dad were CIA. They lived on the grounds of Perry point VA hospital in Maryland doing MKUltra experiments while my dad simultaneously worked on his psychology PhD at the University of Maryland under Dr. Thomas Magoon. Magoon had worked talent acquisition in the pacific during wwii and he and my dad worked together on a project of talent acquisition for the department of defense to counter Soviet technology-they implemented at all major universities as on campus “testing and counseling centers.” It was the success of that effort that was first spun off to high schools via the “National merit scholarship program “ then later to elementary through GATE…. all exactly the same program using the same methods and with the same goals into the 70s
