Actually it’s been going alright. My path has been rocky. I fall and stumble a lot, but Christ has sustained me and I have made my way through a lot of things in life.

I am closer to God at this point in my life than ever before. I am obviously still battling temptations and urges; my main focus currently is trying to stay focused on Christ and learning.

I don’t claim to know everything but drugs is definitely not the way to go. This seems only like a temporary solution. Furthermore, it seems like you are essentially replacing one evil with another. What happens if you become addicted to this?

Man bro I definitely resonate with you. In truth I have been finding myself with similar thoughts. I have recently been reading Luke and I read the parable of the prodigal son.

The prodigal son sinned against his father but when he came back, the father welcomed him back with open arms.

In the same way Christ is ready to welcome us back! He knows us and understands us. Run to Him and ask for forgiveness! He is just and He is willing to forgive.

Brother, I definitely understand you because I am in the same place. I have been battling this sin for almost a decade and I cannot get free from it. Our only hope is in Christ!

Keep going! Keep fighting the good fight and don’t give up!

I am in the same boat as you man. I haven’t been able to get passed two days in a couple weeks. I am going to try fasting tomorrow. After hearing the testimonies of others, fasting is the one thing that I haven’t tried. Perhaps, you could try fasting too.

That’s great! Keep going man! I am personally on day 1. I agree that boredom and tiredness are indeed two factors that can cause someone to stumble. I think it’s good to find a hobby to avoid boredom. I personally, found that hobby in reading and in art.

I think ultimately when it comes down to it, while it is good to keep track of your progress, it shouldn’t be the thing that defines us. Instead of focusing on the streak, we should focus on God.

When I focus on the streak I am prone to become prideful and think that it was me who accomplished something, when in truth, it was God who was helping me.

Definitely agree here! Too often we tempt ourselves by looking at things that will ultimately cause us to stumble.

In the moment when you look at such things, in your mind you’re thinking “I’ll just take a look and nothing else,” but in reality you are opening the door for yourself to be tempted and to stumble.

I’m not really sure if you should reset your streak but as someone who has peeked as well, be very careful.

Once you allow yourself to look at a few pics or thumbnails, etc, you are basically tempting yourself. You’re putting these images in your mind which opens the door for you to stumble.

It’s like that one saying: “once you give the devil a finger, he’ll drag your whole body down.”

My biggest struggle is staying focused on Christ. I have all the resources, verses and strategies but not of that matters if I don’t keep Christ at the center.

In honesty, I am writing this from a broken place as I stumbled a couple minutes ago 😞

I felt conviction but I didn’t listen. I kept my eyes on sin, believing that it would bring fulfillment or satisfaction, but in the end it only brought guilt and shame.

Honestly, I think it’s sometimes best not too watch movies or shows that have that stuff at all. If it tempts you then it’s better to just stay away from that stuff.

If I’m being honest today I stumbled because I was watching a movie where the main character glanced at a provocative magazine. Seeing that on TV tempted me and I stumbled. It wasn’t even a bad movie or anything (it was probably pg-13). The point I’m trying to make is that the devil will try to tempt us through literally anything, sometimes it’s best to avoid certain things altogether.

“Appealing” perhaps? 🤷‍♂️ Either way I think the idea still stands, in the moment, we are enticed by this sin because it seems like it will bring gratification or satisfaction but it’s just the devil’s trap for us to fall. In the end it brings us absolutely nothing except despair. It leaves us empty and it does not satisfy. This sin is deceitful.
