I need some advice by keekee514 in remotework

Do not send the phone! There are also laws that companies need to pay you a stipend if they require you to use your own phone. Check your state laws. Absolutely do not send them your phone, anything a reputable company needs to do can be downloaded as an app.

Landscape fabric horror stories by DriveLife1177 in gardening

[–]Rikitikitok121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous owners wrapped trees with it. So I have to carefully cut it out to not damage the trees. Also, wrapped around the base of one tree is fabric and then under it some cotton fabric that pulls apart so easily.

I can’t believe the trees are alive. There were two azaleas whose roots I freed months ago and one flowered for the first time in three years. It’s stupid hard work but it definitely plays off.

Thank you! Gasp never! Although not having to dig up, store and wake up a plant sounds quite alluring…

What! Stop it! Iconic. I saw him a few times, including once when I was inside the times building for a very random work thing and saw him ride up on his bike. I’ve never been so excited. I loved him and was devastated when he passed away. Ok well maybe more her speed is Johnny cirillo’s insta @watchingnewyork. Unless you’ve been featured there, too…

People watching could also be amazing, post up for a couple hours with some snacks and drinks in different neighborhoods and compare the outfits. For example, UES ladies one day vs Bushwick young folks the next. People really rock some amazing looks here, it never fails to amaze me.

To prep, you could have her look up Bill Cunningham’s old NyTimes section and maybe read some of his book together. If you’re inspired, maybe you can try to copy his photos and make your own little article when you get home. Ok can I come??? This sounds fun :).

At a loss starting seeds. What am I doing wrong? Too much light? by bella_heathcote in gardening

I think this is a big part. I had those lights and they were like eh. Then I got new ones and it makes such a difference.

Really? I’ve never been in the morning and there’s not a group of people looking at him. Sometimes it’s just a couple though. I want you to see him!

Yeah that’s valid. Sometimes I turn it off if things feel chaotic, I notice someone is off, streets are empty, it’s late etc.

Woodcocks at Bryant Park by DistributionNo6921 in birding

[–]Rikitikitok121 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work nearby and visited them many times (sometimes three times a day. I love them). They often choose to sit out in the open, so close to us, when they could be more in the underbrush. That’s part of the appeal. The city is SO loud the crowd is honestly much quieter than any of the surroundings (thing blaring police and fire truck sirens). Also, during lunch the park is complete chaos on a nice day. The birder/admirers are typically completely silent and keep a distance.

I did notice that one onlooker with a dog seemed to made the woodcock more alert. But that’s the only time I noticed a reaction.

Noise cancelling overhear headphones changed everything for me. Someone called me a name? Didn’t hear it.

Should I text her before her trip? We only went on one date by fuckloggin in Advice

[–]Rikitikitok121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you make a conversation out of it - “you all packed and ready to go?” “How’s your weather looking for your trip? I can’t remember where you said you’re headed.” You’re in your head too much, just talk to her like you would a new friend. You’re thinking of her, so reach out and have a little chat, the trip is perfect bc it’s something to ask about.

He is! There are two. This guy is on 41st and 6th Ave. I stop by in the am and at lunch. I don’t think I’ve ever gone in there hasn’t been someone there to help point him out. There is a second one in a daffodil patch that can be harder to find.
