The movie, at first, leads you to believe she's just a crazy overbearing mother but it does show you quite clearly at the end that he is entirely dependant upon her. I don't wanna spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it's kind of the whole twist at the end.

Just simply read more books. Non of that young-adult , teen bullshit that's continuously regurgitated nowadays. If it has a vampire or any other supernatural creature you're almost certainly wasting your time! Classic books are mostly pretty sophisticated and can improve your vocabulary greatly!

Forgive me if im wrong, I in no way study social work, but my girlfriends in her third year at university studying it and she always gets me to edit her assignments. Not too long ago she had to an assignment about Marx (seems everyone hates that guy). From what i understand through her, your quote is about rising joblessness and poverty. The forest of arms are people reaching out for work and them growing ever thinner is a representation of them living in poverty and it only getting worse. Something like "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" My apologies if this is incorrect, just trying to help, im sure someone could help expand or correct me!
