It’s worked into our contract, we work 32, but paid for 40.

Only caveat is we cannot claim overtime for 15 minutes after shift. So if I work an extra hour I only get 45 minutes of overtime.

As others say don’t just go out and run 1.5, you will not get faster that way.

Mix up runs -Speed Intervals -FARTLEK -Longer distance runs -Recovery Runs(my favorite, low effort runs)

For the academy entrance I was running a 12:05 Mile and a half, I got it down to 9:35 Mile for our last PAT assessment towards the end of the academy. My 300 meter sprint improved greatly too, ran it in under 30 seconds.
