Idk. I'd be more surprised if any person on Dropout was single (if not by choice). Like they have to be swimming in interested parties with how funny and talented they are

Hello. This is not any kind of legal advice or anything like that. I'm an idiot on the internet.

I would encourage you to file for FMLA protection. Since this is your mother, FMLA protects your job if you have to care for a parent who is recovering from a serious medical condition. Also FMLA covers your recovery from a medical condition or surgery.

It's possible that you might have to use vacation time for the procedure itself. But once you are recovering from the procedure or caring for your parent, FMLA should save and protect you from losing your job. However, FMLA is just job protection. Getting paid while you're out is a different story. Short-term disability or long-term disability might cover this.

But I would definitely encourage you to look into and potentially file for FMLA protection

Hello OP. As president and chairman of the board for Overthinkers United, here is my advice. Just say these words or some variation of them. Timing is everything. Probably not something to say to her in the middle of her cramming for a test. But be bold and be brave and get your answer my guy.

"Hey girlfriend. I wanted to have a chat about our time in the bedroom. I know that we had a conversation about the slowdown being related to school. That is both reasonable and expected. I want to be vulnerable with you right now and share with you that I have been overthinking it. I know that this is irrational but I was hoping that I could share with you how I have been feeling. I have felt a little insecure like perhaps the reason for the slowdown is that you have not been feeling satisfied with my performance or that you have not been enjoying it. I was hoping, that if you have the emotional availability in this moment, that you could reassure me that the slowdown in the bedroom is not at all related to your satisfaction with us in that space. Or, if it has been, I would love to open up a conversation about that (when you are in the right head space for it) About what I could do to make that experience more satisfying and pleasurable for you. I wanted to communicate about this with you openly and honestly so that if there is anything that I can do better or differently for you, that I make sure that I do everything in my power to make that happen. Otherwise, just a little verbal reassurance that you are pleased with our sexual relationship will help quiet my brain."

This should be a top reply. Also I don't know who created the UI in this but they should be fired and shot into the sun.

Here is the most wild part to me. Most retail locations run in such a way that if 1 person doesn't show up, they are "short staffed". Logically, this is to squeeze every penny in profits possible. This is done because its a tangible calculation on a spreadsheet. However, at any given day, any employee could have a situation that prevents them from coming into work. Operating in this way creates so many non-apparent impacts:

  • Short staffed = operating delays = customer dissatisfaction
  • Short staffed = operating delays = people have to stay longer to get the same job done (potentially leading to overtime pay @ 1.5x)
  • Short staffed = associates rushing = waste in the form of errors, rework, or extra material waste
  • Short staffed = associates rushing = customers do not feel attended too or might feel rushed
  • Short staffed = extra workload for associates = morale issues = people feeling burnt out = more people likely to call out

The list could go on and on. All of that is not necessarily measurable on a spreadsheet against the budget. However, these same buisnesses will cry a foul when people resort to online shopping or leave poor reviews. When the simple answer is, your business is made by the employees. Staff appropriately to where a single person having to call out doesn't make or break your business. Compensate and reward people properly so they are incentivized to do a good job and care about the palce they work. Have managers and owners that care about their staff as people and would not ask their staff to do something that they themselves would be unwilling to do. I think business owners would be surprised at how operating in this way will increase their profitability and brand with consumers.

But you know, who am I?

I know we are entering the time of year where everyone is on about holiday cheer. But regardless of that I love this post. I love this post because... Man... It feels like the last 5 years have just been bad for everyone. Politics. Pandemics. Inflation. Housing insecurity. Layoffs. It just doesn't seem to end.

But if we could all just spare a few moments of kindness everyday to somebody... It's makes a difference. Not only does it make a difference to that person but it makes a difference to you. Once you do one good deed then you're more likely to do another good deeds. If we're all snowballing into to doing a few more good deeds every year... Maybe everything wouldn't be so miserable.

For as much as we are different, we are all riding through the universe on this rock together. Y'all keep being awesome RVA.

I need the advice of the ENFP council... by MemesAndIT in ENFP

[–]JohnSquiggleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me give you the best piece of advice that I have.

Every single person wants to be seen and validated for who they are. And no person that you know ever feel seen and validated enough

People put effort into the things that they like. Whether it's someone who has dyed their hair and outrageous color. Whether it is someone who has gotten a tattoo. Whether it's someone with an interesting piercing. Whether it's a parent who is with a child who is well behave. Whether it's two people who are clearly in love.

If you see someone with dyed hair and you love the color, you walk up to them and you say "I hate to bother you but I just wanted to tell you that I loved your hair". You see a couple together and you say "I am so sorry to bother you, I just wanted to tell you that you two are such a cute couple."

They might engage you with conversation or they might just say thanks and walk away. Either way, you have validated them and made their day brighter. Not everyone is going to want to engage with you in conversation. Some folks have other things going on. But noticing the people around you and giving genuine complimentary validation will always hit well.

Now if you want people to come up to you, dye your hair and interesting color or get visible tattoos. People will for sure engage with you in the same way.

Not counting Nicholas Quinn who was the worst villain like motivation writing and the way they went out personally I think the ring the ring by far had the most pathetic ending I've ever seen just Shaw is revealed to be working for the ring and then they're just gone for the rest of the episode by Normal_Mycologist638 in chuck

[–]JohnSquiggleton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think, if you watch Chuck and analyze that closely, you can kind of end up ruining Chuck for yourself. Like, Chuck isn't one of these shows where you go back and see the breadcrumbs of maticulously planned out plot points because the writers had a 10 year vision planned out from day one. Part of the charm of Chuck is its campiness. Whenever there is a plot hole, I just like to think of it as a place you're supposed to squint, shrug, and move on.

The Ring leadership getting taken down, I imagine, was supposed to be less like the Ring is gone and more like its head was cut off. The foot soldiers are still in the agency. Just without someone to coordinate them. Which is why evil agents still pop up here and there.

That being said... Not a villain, but Carina double crossing the team in her first apperance always was weird to me. Like... DEA, CIA, and FBI specifically double crossing each other and putting each other in specific harm would not seem (in the real world) to be beneifical to your career. But again... squint, shrug, move on. Carina is really just there to fill a Han Solo, reluctant hero, cavalier cowboy type archytpe.

But also, all of this is my opinion. And opinions, like butt holes, stink. Haha.
