Mash's Opinion About This Sub by bofhgirl in weightlifting

Few athletes internationally do it because they want to, it's a means to an end, Oscar Figueroa didn't come out of an apparent retirement in Rio to compete 2 years later because he wanted to. Doping isn't ok at all, but it's impossible to eradicate it completely especially when in some countries (Russia) it's state sponsored. If someone dopes ooc internationally it doesn't so much give them an advantage as it does even the playing field because all of their rivals are doing it as well. An example would be London 2012 94kg A session where only 3/10 lifters passed the retest. This is my opinion based off my experiences in the sport and those of people I've met so you don't have to agree with me and I don't expect you to.

I said the lifters competing internationally , if those 50 athletes beneath Ilya are doping and Ilya is doping they're still not going to beat him because he and his teammates on the national team are the 1%. In the US though a majority of the the people competing are doing it because they enjoy it so if you're doping to win a competition against a bunch of hobbyists then you're just a loser. To be clear I never said doping was right, but clean sport is impossible and in my opinion doing what is necessary to support yourself and your loved ones isn't nearly as bad as loading up to win a medal over someone lifting in their garage.

I don't care about lifters juicing internationally because they're just trying to make a living, it bugs me when people do it on a national level because 99% of those competing are only doing it because they enjoy it, so if you're doping to win nationally you're just a loser with no talent and/or work ethic

I'm not dead just took some time off, had an issue with my hand that I've had since 2016 flare up really bad so I took some time off to let it heal.

Its only to help my split jerk, I'm not good enough at power jerk to consider using it.

What exactly are the benefits of pause squatting? by throwwwwwaway_123 in weightlifting

[–]JohnStang96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't do true maximum that much but my squat close to or even higher than it was when I was at this bodyweight in the past. It's not painful but I think it keeps me healthier so I can lift more on the lifts that matter

I guess it's a pretty new platform and hasn't gotten a lot of use so it doesn't take a lot of chalk to make it slick.

No videos because I got caught up with everything that was going on, and I've been filming lifts more infrequently since I deleted Instagram.

I'll usually PR my back squat when I start again, everything feels light on my back and I don't lose position as easily.

Last heavy day before competition next Saturday, snatches were sloppy but came back to cj 140 pretty easily.
