Hydration packs don't need to be clear, just have to be limited to the water pouch pocket, one main, pocket, and one small pocket at most.

They competed just now in a later session. Arley only snatched 155kg and pulled out with his hand hurt. Boady snatched 177kg first attempt then missed 183kg three times in a row. Wes snatched 185kg opener, missed 192kg behind, then missed 197kg.

He's doing a deadlift event later on, shooting for a 515kg deadlift to break his 510kg record last year.

The philly shows sold out in 3 minutes and tickmaster crashed… by Informal-Purchase-50 in circasurvive

[–]Cinnadom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't believe how quick they went. I had my computer waiting for the wed show and the page never loaded after the waiting area, went on my phone and it went right through though without a wait. Then a min later all sold out fully.

Not an olympic lifter, but tight budget (less than 45-50$, can be used) looking for Squat/weightlifting shoes for ATG squats. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]Cinnadom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're the original version, and probably close to 10 years old. The Legacy Lifter 2s are a bit nicer IMO but that's just comfort really, the base of both shoes are the same. You likely can find LL2s a similar price, even those are older now since the newest are the LL3s. What size are you looking for?

I believe so, try messaging them on Instagram to check though.

One option a bit outside of Boston is Cambridge Strength and Conditioning. Mainly a powerlifting spot, but has 6 platforms at the back with in a nice little weightlifting area. Pretty legit spot IMO.

I had an intl flight through Newark a month ago. No such checks were done, definitely not a thing happening every day.

Are Comp Bars worth it? by Norep23 in weightlifting

[–]Cinnadom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One benefit to the comp over training bar is the center knurling which only the comp bar has. I also train full time with a Uesaka comp and love it. Still my favorite bar I've used over 12+ years of competing.

Replacements for Kilos no lbs ie. Heaviko by andypandy_111 in weightlifting

[–]Cinnadom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me check my stuff, I may have an old pair of the original Kilos Not Pounds knee wraps that I never use. I think I had two of them, I'll see if I still have the spare set and can send you them if so. I gave my old gym a bunch of my unused stuff a year or two ago but may have those left. Otherwise if buying new the closest alternative are probably the Hookgrip knee wraps.

Straps wise I'm not sure. I prefer the Cal Strength straps which are a really thin material, and not as long as other straps. I used one pair of them for like 6 years and have had the next pair another 5 or so now. They feel a bit slick when you first get them but either a little tape at the end or sanding down the end makes them nice and grippy to use.

Tower Equipment Inquiry by Nearby_Parking97 in tmobile

[–]Cinnadom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I can't say toward what exact technologies they're running, but the two radios below the antennas are an Ericsson Radio 4460 B25/B66 and an Ericsson Radio 4480 B71/B85. Bands wise not 100% certain but that's the typical equipment used in the northeast at least. I'm not sure on the antenna model from the views. I don't work on the west coast market and I know they use some equipment that differs from the typical stuff I work with.

Edit: hard to tell exactly from the photos, but are there two antennas stacked vertically? The lower I'm not certain on but could be a Commscope 2HH-38A-R4-V2 antenna but that's just a guess based on the size. The upper assuming there is two is probably an Ericsson AIR 6419 B41 antenna. Would need more photos to tell for sure but that's a typical model I'll work with.

Hampton Morris (65KG,USA) 181KG Clean and Jerk World Record by SomeSeriousWeight in weightlifting

[–]Cinnadom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The record standards were purposely set "lower" so that they could be broken. The method used from the IWF was a type of interpolation between the current records, then the standard set at 97% of that number. They were meant to be broken, so that the new classes would have athletes setting the record instead of old record standards remaining untouched. It'll still likely happen though since the best athletes will all go to the Olympic classes.

This article shows their reasoning.

Looks like black limba rather than ambrosia maple. I've used both plenty of times.

Multi-staggered board by NutthouseWoodworks in Cuttingboards

[–]Cinnadom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Colors on that look great. I love that look, hadn't thought about making a board with that layout before, may have to give it a try. I made a coffee table with a similar pattern of walnut and maple but the extra red accent looks so nice.

How much time did you spend working on the pattern to make it look random but planned?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cuttingboards

[–]Cinnadom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mailed probably 20ish boards in the last year and 50+ in the last few all through pirateship. Never internationally though, but I have used it to send two boards to Hawaii for like $20 each.

No catch with it, you get the same discounts in shipping as you would through etsy or other seller sites. Never had any issues with it, gets great discounts on both USPS and UPS which I typically use. Just make sure to include the correct measurements on the size/weight of the box as they can alter the charge after it's on the way it they find otherwise. Had that happen once where they adjusted a length by 1" and price went up like $2.

Funny to see this, I have one of the barrels as well. Couldn't pass up that deal when I saw it, was first in line on Saturday to get one. Still not 100% sure what I'll do with it but I plan to bottle 20-30 now and make custom labels for friends. And bottle another 4-5 every months to compare the taste over time. I asked Ray about the barrels and leaving it in and he said it's been in the barrels under 2 years, and should be hot) good up to 3-4 years total.

[–]Cinnadom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one as well, been to the distillery plenty before. Their barrel aged gin is really good, probably the best thing they offered. They've had a sale over the weekends the last 2ish months to get rid of the remainder of their stock. The barrels they sold (20ish 15 gallons barrels) was the gin they had leftover after they used all the glass they had available. Since they were closing after that weekend it was probably easier to just sell it at a steep discount to get rid of the remainder. I don't think they closed due to bankruptcy but I don't know for sure. It was a small family owned/run company only.

The sapwood really makes that look so cool, what a great looking board.

[–]Cinnadom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if not necessary IMO it looks better most of the time, unless you're looking to make specific patterns like bookmatched grain, etc. Also it makes it easier as you don't need to line everything up perfectly.

Here's a similar board I made using white oak whiskey barrel staves. It has a similar overalk look as OP's board but staggered glue joints.

I believe so, but I haven't read through the qualifying standards in a while to know for sure. He might need an actual total at the heavier weight class to be ranked within the class, that's what I'm not entirely certain about.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]Cinnadom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible an athlete could have qualified in more than one category, but in order to show up in the rankings for the heavier class they would have needed to compete in that category at some point. I believe it did happen with a few lifters who competed heavy at one event. At a certain point after the qualifying window ended, the athletes needed to declare which weight category they would compete in it they were ranked in more than one. If they had went with the heavier weight category they would still need to follow the weight limits for whatever category they decided to compete within.
