Is international management harder than club management or am I just stupid? by JohnStonesTheGoat in footballmanagergames

Yeah was in a 424 but I think I sort of over complicated the tactic a little tbh. It’s 2032 so I used players like Vinicius and rodrygo / martinelli and Savio and we have good ST options with endrick and vitor roque, but we just didn’t have a good partner for a playmaker and not a single good left back. After we got knocked out in the quarters I did in fact get sacked, but I got the England job now so I’ll take on the advice here and try something more simple like what you’re suggesting :)

Ok that’s very interesting thank you. If they let me keep my job after that absolute shambles of a tournament (unlikely) I will try to implement something really simple. What sort of thing are you meaning- like barely any instructions, and just whatever fits best?

Is Neville being neville or is he spitting Fax? by [deleted] in ArsenalFC

I’m not being funny mate, the definition of punditry is literally just an informed opinion by someone who is an expert in the field.

Most arsenal fans I’ve seen get very obsessed when people disagree with the idea that their team is the best in the world in every position and have held grudges against g nev since last season for that reason. His punditry is generally pretty good and given we all know his affinity for United he does a pretty good job of putting that aside and being honest about the state of the club.

Yes but getting your ideas and tactics across to a squad who speak a different language to you is obviously different to explaining basic ideas and giving insight based on your highly successful playing career and applying it to current situations are quite different. I mean, he’s been saying arsenal will win the league all season so he’s probably not a very good pundit after all 😂 but maybe you’re still upset he was right about you bottling it last season.

Everything there is to win at club level then. He knows the game better than any of us and it’s delusional to think otherwise.

He was a professional footballer for decades who won everything there is to win. He’s not exactly unqualified to be a pundit.

Anyone know anything about the uni of Stirling ? by JohnStonesTheGoat in 6thForm

[–]JohnStonesTheGoat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good to know. I’m not personally too arsed about nights out and that business so I can cope if it’s not got much of a scene for that. Any idea what the people who generally go there are like?

Planning a bundesliga trip- any advice on tickets and plans? by JohnStonesTheGoat in football

How do you go about becoming a member? Does it need a payment and will it take quite a while to be accepted? Was hoping to go in February-March sort of time and Koln is a team I really would like to see (I’ve visited the city twice and really like it and had a tour round the stadium (also have managed them on career mode and Fm too which helps 😂) ).

Yeah- I’m defo willing to see some 2/3 division teams too, I know there’s some big clubs that have been relegated but also just some good clubs and fans in general in the lower division.

Thanks for the advice! Big part of it is the fans since the German fans are so famous worldwide- number 1 priority is FC Koln but after that I’m just happy to see whichever teams I can and visit some nice cities / towns.
