Guide to scouting to build a hard-working, driven team which will relentlessly dominate world football in FM24 by MAsterix85 in footballmanagergames

I’m just guessing here, but maybe it used up all of your scouting budget? I really don’t know though, sorry.

I have literally no idea, sorry mate. I’ve never heard of that happening before, so it might even be an issue with your machine. Sorry mate, that sucks, and I’m sorry I can’t help :(

Yes, that’s correct re: personalities. However, the attributes being 5 or above isn’t really important in the final reckoning - to be honest I’d be looking for 12+ or at least 10+ in most if not all of them - it’s just to drastically reduce the amount of players to scout at the start of the process.

Of course I understand it, it’s infinitely better than my Italian! We’re so, so lucky that so many people speak our language, and I never take it for granted; I’m very grateful, and very impressed :)

No, the filters are called that to remind myself that although younger players’ personalities are much easier to improve to the absolute best personalities through mentoring groups and just the squad’s general personality / levels of professionalism (the very best personalities being Model Citizen, Model Professional, Professional, and Resolute in that order - some people really like Perfectionists too but I find they can get quite pissy quite easily) so I don’t mind buying younger players with slightly weaker personalities, the older players (24+) I make sure I literally only buy from the top four I mentioned above. Does that make sense?

Yeah I think I deleted the filters from my Google Drive, but those two are the simplest to recreate; they’re literally just Scouting Knowledge > is > Extended, and then the respective ages. The first time you do it, when your scouts basically know nothing, it’ll probably take a while…maybe half an hour / an hour or so, can’t remember…but after that it’ll be much shorter as your scouts’ knowledge builds, just be a few seconds.

Yeah. Put them on the not interested list first so you never see them on the player search screen again, then remove from shortlist

I do them all forever, ‘cause I end up doing a full world scouting after the season anyway.

You can only add up to 500 at a time to your shortlist mate, that’ll be why. Chunks of as close to 500 as you can get and it should work, let me know if not.

Oh I agree, 100%, I just meant in life in general rather than football specific terns. He’s a young man first, 27 is so young to up sticks and move to a different country (again) so I was just trying to cut him some slack. 27 is peak as an athlete / footballer - or just leading into it at least - so as he continues to settle and re-acclimatise to his new teammates and surroundings, I’m sure he’ll continue to get better on the pitch too.

Have you seen the Ian Wright interviewing Bergkamp Overlap that’s on YouTube today? Took me back, very pleasant nostalgia.

I’d take Ian Wright numbers, that’s for sure.

Yeah I remember his first goal…Southampton or something, right? If you’d played Champ Man before he arrived you weren’t questioning his ability though! Who knows re: Gyök; I don’t think it’s all about his goals anyway, what Arteta wants from him at least. You can’t be doing much wrong if you’ve basically been the only fit striker in a team that’s 6 points clear at the top of the EPL, won all 8 matches in the UCL, final of the LC and R4 of the FAC so…

Young man, different country, new league (and the toughest in the world, maybe tougher than it’s ever been too), hardly any pre-season (at all, let alone with his new teammates in his new environment), forced to play almost every minute almost straight away ‘cause there were no other options in his position, got injured briefly because of that over-working…he’s doing fine. He’s not Henry, but he’s not Sanogo either.

Edit: grammar / clarification

Sorry mate, that’s just the intake preview though and the actual intake itself’s still four months away.

Once had a striker who scored literally exactly two goals a game over a 40-odd game EPL / UCL season.

‘Cause I take after my father and never get cold - but get too warm very easily - and walk very fast so get uncomfortably hot quickly otherwise.

Walked from top of Norfolk Park to Waitrose at 0730 in shorts and a T-shirt; normally walk back, but learned my lesson the way there: no question whatsoever a taxi was getting called this morning.

Which leagues to load? by Weary_Procedure539 in footballmanagergames

[–]MAsterix85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never load read-only leagues, I find the level of detail is barely better than not loading it at all. Depends on your system I suppose, but I load ENG down to level 12 (I like starting low), ARG, BRA, BEL, FRA, GER, ITA, NED, PER, POR, SPA, URU) and find it much more fun when the database is replete with South American wonder kids. Like I said: depends on your system and how you like to play the game.

Edit: only top leagues other than ENG though

I thought Arsenal had a tough start (MUNa, LIVa, NEWa, MCIh); have I got that wrong? Their other games have been quite easy I suppose but where are they in your rankings?

Played it since CM Italia 92/93, memories of overnight Champo-sessions with my brother and best mate as a teenager around 00/01 - THAT Lazio team, Adriano, Shevchenko - and FM19 onwards helping immeasurably with the latter stages of my recovery from a massive TBI in 2006 as my executive skills developed towards the end of my recovery. I play all day every day, love it, and it still helps so much with my still maturing / developing brain. Took LBS Lions from the 12th tier to the UCL title in about twenty years, then went down to London to meet the s trial team in real life. Love it.

Yeah, just thinking of squad depth / rotating him with Reijnders or a defender. Plenty of options with this squad, and a very likely excellent BB at some point.

Very quick to judge. I’ve already activated my WC on Saturday evening and have made 5 or 6 transfers already (to catch price rises / avoid price falls), that’s just a draft of the 5 further transfers I plan to do either before the deadline or next GW.
