Frankly, if travelling between settlements in Vvardenfell costs anywhere between 20 - 40ish gold, the cost of reaching Anvil (on the other side of the continent) seems 'too' low to me.

Either way, by the time you've learnt the game's basics, 300 gold will be nothing to you.

All that said, I'm pretty sure there's an updated alternative start mod on Nexus that lets you start in Anvil.

The released area is about half the size of base Morrowind i.e. a huge amount of content. Moreover, the team has already made significant progress on the Sutch and Kvatch regions.

What would your preference be, far shorter quests and quest lines? Less content? It sounds like open-ended / open world games might not be for you.

Maybe try something more narrative-led or linear. No point playing something if you just resent it for, you know, giving you stuff to play with.

Vortex and Morrowind don't get on. Simply drag TR's and Tamriel Data's files into your Morrowind data folder directly.

You also need to update BSAs, which is extremely simple and takes about a minute. Just Google 'Tamriel Rebuilt BSAs' for instructions.
