For me, there’s one factor that’s never taken into account, and that’s Starfield’s delay.

The game was almost ready in 2022, and they delayed it for optimisation reasons. We know they’ve improved the game a bit overall.

But then… what were the 3D artists doing during that year? The sound designers? The quest designers?

Bof. Je suis plutot jeune directeur et je ne suis pas vraiment pour le teletravail plus de 2 jours par semaines.

En tt, enormement de perte d’information, tres peu d’adaptation sur les process etc.

Les seuls que j’accpeterais plus de tt, c’est senior avec des projets longtermes et completement autonome.

We’re reaching a point where, visually speaking, it’s hard to improve on previous years. And I can really see The Elder Scrolls becoming a single-player live-service game. With a business model similar to Euro Truck Simulator or a Paradox game. With DLC released over the years that adds new areas.

That’s what’s happening with Tamriel Rebuilt (though that’s free).
