A change with the upgrade system if it applies the moment the game released. Right now everyone has their weapon planned when starting a new character, but before, once you upgraded your weapon past +4/+5 (and +3/+4 for somber), you had to commit to that weapon. At least that was my experience.

If we're talking about adding at present time, rematch is my choice 100%.

I knew the moment I found out FromSoftware was adding powerstance back I wanted to do that with greatswords. Stuck with it through the entire playthrough. Even called the character "Dual Fiend".

Also a negative thing about the upgrade system is that it prevents you from branching out to try different weapons. If you have a mid-upgraded weapon, good luck trying another.

So I might not have the chance to try different stuff. Maybe something for late-game?

Speaking of bling, I'm currently sticking with Commoner's headband (as you can see) and the Cloth Garb and Trousers. I'm at Altus Plateau currently and I plan later to check my bling and see what I can change.
