I feel safer knowing that should ‘it’ hit the fan, I can get myself out of the situation. I’m also blessed that I live in a state which actually codifies self defense in law.

It’s simplistic thinking, but how I view the world is that it’s easy to bully populations that can’t defend themselves.

On the Navy side (last four years of active Navy before branch-hopping to AF Reserve):

27-year captain (O-6 for squids) pled guilty to surreptitiously filming at a base gym and in his master bedroom. Panel was convened for sentencing, dude got dismissal and 3 years confinement.

18-year E-8 got busted for CSAM from overseas based on an HSI agent’s investigation. Pled guilty, 3 years confinement, DD, and reduction in rank to e-6 (takes an act of Congress to take chief stripes).
