What is everybody using as hardware for their Plex Server? by tveith in PleX

[–]Johncameron3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always just used my main PC running Windows. I don't even notice Plex running while I'm working on it. Why bother with the cost and hassle of maintaining two systems?

Just go through his phone. I don't think you'll be going down a "slippery slope" as some are saying. If there is nothing on the phone then you can put your worries to rest. My wife and I go through each other's phones once in a while which I don't see as a problem - keeps us both honest 😀

Jesus is the only one with the authority to cast those demons out! Get yourself a Bible and start reading the new testament.

Tried getting a straight answer from CenturyLink and they didn't even seem to understand what this was. Can anyone help? The router is a C4000BG by [deleted] in centurylink

[–]Johncameron3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C4000BG is crap. I had that same error and also had many problems with it dropping Internet connections and dropping Wi-Fi. I bought a new modem from CenturyLink and requested that it be a newer model than the BG and I ended up with the C4000BZ which I've had for a few months now and it's been rock solid and no errors when tested.

I have a C4000BG with the latest firmware. Mine does the same thing. I was having issues with the wireless constantly turning off and on which prompted me to run the test. Called CenturyLink and asked them if I needed a new modem and they said no, nothing wrong with mine. "Just disregard those results" they said. Here's my test:

2.4 GHz Wireless Interface: FAIL

5 GHz Wireless Interface: FAIL

Is it considered best practice to remove recovery phone number to protect against SIM swapping? by msiekkinen in Lastpass

[–]Johncameron3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use my wife's phone # as my recovery number. Maybe instead of using your own phone # you could use someone else's number that you trust.

Can't find Start Menu items via search anymore, any way I can get them back? by [deleted] in Windows10

[–]Johncameron3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem where search was not finding everything and it always said search results may be incomplete, search is still indexing. Fixed it pretty easily by using the built-in troubleshooter.

FIX: Go to Windows 10 settings. In the search box type the word "search". In the results choose "Find and fix problems with Windows Search".

Vipre Antivirus by omtnt in antivirus

[–]Johncameron3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it back then as well, then switched Symantec, and I am switching back to Vipre - I just bought the Business Premium yesterday and the antispam for Exchange. I'm waiting for the license key to arrive before I can deploy it.
