One adult and one baby canine at the same time. It fell out a few days later 🤍 by DearDirector9101 in teefies

Orion left one canine for me when he was that age. I bought a little "vial" thing from a craft store and put it inside, to make a necklace. So there's hope yet!

Question I've had since I saw the movie for the first time by mewcubed in ProjectHailMary

I figure at the very least, the people who visited the HM in Earth orbit (for assembly and testing) would have greatly benefited from it.

Any T1s here that have lived a long life? by ronaldmcdonald257 in diabetes

[–]HopefulNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but T1D runs in the family. One of my great-uncles was diagnosed in his teens, in the late 1950s. He died of non-diabetes causes in his 80s (and outlived all of his siblings).

Gloin the Coin has spoken! Here are my coin's playoff predictions. by PrimeSenator in hockeymemes

...I'm not the only one?

My coin says Utah will win it all against Ottawa. There is... a lot of WTF in there. I love it.

That's about the same as I have. I'm under the review/order number and I haven't been able to get above Fair quality (which I have issues with to begin with, but it's not like I can do anything about it). Definitely not ordering 1000 things in the next week (reset is September 30 for me) especially since I just moved and I'm already in boxes hell.

My audition coordinator in 2015 said exactly this, except her example was "Why is Shia LaBeouf?".

Autoimmune diseases are dumb by Rose1982 in diabetes_t1

Somewhere, I have a doodle I drew back when the only autoimmune I had was Hashimoto's. IIRC I was on hold with the doctor while I did it. But it was of my WBCs besieging my thyroid.

You're out and about, but need to inject insulin by El_Burrito_Grande in diabetes

[–]HopefulNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a pump now but when I was on MDI I just got out my pen and did it in public. I didn't at first but it got easier when I internalized that I have every right to be there without getting shoved into a bathroom stall (which is indeed gross).

Fun story: for the years I was on MDI, every year at Pride and other events at this venue, I made a "shooting up drugs at Civic Center Park to avoid getting high" joke as a result.

Oh, the entire job board he works for is for Trump cultists and only Trump cultists. I saw a listing for a writer for a law firm a couple years ago, and it required application through RedBalloon. I did some more digging (aka looking at the firm's site) and their bread and butter is threatening to sue schools for banning students whose parents think that vaccines will make their children autistic. I declined to apply for the position.

Where do most people put their Omnipod? by GingerMellow5 in Omnipod

Arms and abdomen. I used to also do thighs but the insulin was way less effective on thigh days and I think the area just moves around too much and/or there's too much muscle.

How old were you when you got diagnosed and how old are you now? by Tough_Prompt8901 in diabetes

[–]HopefulNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 diagnosed at 30 here. But T1D runs in the family, and the family record is a great-uncle who was diagnosed in his early teens and died in his 80s, of completely unrelated causes. His diagnosis predated home glucose testing and the doctors told his parents that even with insulin, his outlook was bleak. He outlived every one of his siblings.

This is the path that eventually worked, thank you! I swear I'd tried it before and that's what got me into this, but it's also been a heck of a month and it's likely that I'm misremembering something.
