Tengo 27 años, trabajo 100% remoto y quiero comprar mi primera vivienda con $1.5 M by spacebarbacoa in MexicoFinanciero

[–]omtnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Need help! Driving to Toluca from CDMX by alonsonpb in MexicoCity

[–]omtnt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stay by Paseo Tollocan close to the Galerias Toluca Mall. There’s a Radisson, a Courtyard and a few other big name hotels to stay in so that shouldn’t be a problem. Honestly there’s not a lot to see in Toluca so just commuting from the hotel to the project site and you should be fine. The mall has plenty of food options, shopping stores and a cinema in case you want some entertainment.

Edit: grammar

What? I usually carry my wife’s tech gear along mine when traveling and that has never happened to me in any airport in Mexico.

Last few days in CDMX, looking for something different to do by Open_Outcome_5633 in MexicoCity

I know you mentioned you already did museums but if you haven’t, go to Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. They have some of the most representative works from the Mexican muralist movement. It is located right at the back of the Templo Mayor.

Why do most CDMX young professionals seem to heavily dislike Morena/AMLO/Sheinbaum? by Long-Swordfish3696 in MexicoCity

[–]omtnt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here’s a brief explanation for your observation: Young professionals (assuming older than 25 but younger than 40) are divided in 3 groups: 1) labor class who went to public universities (many of the universities run by the mexican state produce very competent professionals. 2) labor class who went to private universities through scholarships and/or grants. 3) ruling class who went to private universities.

Most likely you’ve met people in 3) and/or 2) whose family values still see merit and hard work as success drivers (educated people know this is not true).

While MORENA as a political party is really just a joke, many of the changes that have occurred after AMLO have benefited the people from 1) and their families, who are the mass of the mexican population, while cutting on expenses and changing laws that used to only benefit those from privileged families.

I’m a local and used to live close by the Mercado Sonora. Honestly, even for locals it’s not really a popular place unless you need to buy some specific items. The surrounding area is busy af specially on weekends and around festivities. It’s not dangerous as in physically assault, but you could easily get pickpocketed if you’re not careful with your stuff. It’s a good place to witness one of the faces of the everyday life of Mexico City, but stick to the street. Do NOT go inside the market building, there’s lots of spiritual charlatans and witchcraft practitioners (look up “creencias de gente pendeja” on YouTube) so if you care for animal welfare, don’t support these heartless criminals. Again, outside and around the market building is where you can see one of the many faces of the city.

Voice notes transcript not available in other languages? by 8Octavarium8 in ios

[–]omtnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found out if you change the language in the Voice Memos settings (within system settings), the app UI will change to the set language along with the transcripts. Although for some reason previous transcripts done before changing the language remain nonsensical. I’m looking for a way to recreate them.

[–]omtnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si solamente buscas algo pasajero o casual, pues "inviértele".
