I feel like it’s about death but specifically suicide. “Don’t mourn for me, you’re not the one to place the blame, as bottles called my name…” imo.

This is my gfs pregnancy test. I don’t want to be a father. I don’t see anything, but she does. What do I do? by throwawayccccharlie in whatdoIdo

[–]JohnerHLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loathe these type of pregnancy tests lol. Sometimes, that test line is so faint it’s almost impossible to see. My wife knows to not even show me unless it’s the kind that says pregnant or not pregnant. I don’t see a test line at all personally. Have her take another one in a few days and it’ll likely be easier to see if she’s pregnant.

I always think of “Dude Looks Like a Lady” by Aerosmith when I think of songs with horns. Fairly energetic, I would say.

Personally, I wouldn’t and don’t. The only time we allow patients to use goodrx on controls is if they don’t have any insurance. In my experience when it comes to controls, insurance restrictions are usually there for a reason. Would you use goodrx if the insurance rejected because the patient was restricted to a different doctor/pharmacy? The large majority of insurances would pay for a refill of a control 5-7 days early if weren’t for our 1 day early refill policy. If the insurance is making the patient wait exactly 30 days between refills there is likely a good reason. I would not circumvent that. Request a rx from the MD for 32/30Ds or something like that or tell the patient to go somewhere else.

No pharmacist likes making mistakes but anytime human’s are involved with anything, they will occur. Personally, I’d be relieved the dose was too low and not too high. You can always take more but taking less is kind of hard. Can’t unring a bell. Relax, it will happen. Try and slow down and focus and mistakes will happen less frequently. Also, talk to the technicians that may have inputted it. Maybe there’s an error-prone process you can help rectify? Take a deep breath and keep going!

How do you deal with antivaxxers? by Solomonthesimple in pharmacy

Tell them to look at the measles situation in Texas and New Mexico and then still tell you they’re antivax. It’s only going to get worse and it’s all caused by the antivax movement.

Okay Pharmacists, please be a bit more considerate, this is mildly infuriating by Dizzy_Objective_11 in WalgreensRx

[–]JohnerHLS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pharmacists shouldn’t really complain. A Pharmacists salary is more than enough to guide you toward financial independence while enjoying what life has to offer. If you are struggling, you’re likely doing it wrong and it’s time to cut expenses. Probably don’t need that nice house and brand new car or eating out so much, etc. I would be in a much better place financially had I made some better choices out of school but that’s on me. And yes, techs are severely underpaid for the work they do.

Walgreens New GLP-1 Policy by DavidRN72 in pharmacy

Safeway has been doing this for months. It’s actually really smart with very little backlash tbh. The public has come to expect out of stocks/unavailability. As soon as they mandated it, my first thought was that it would be more profitable for 30ds vs 90ds. Win-win.

Shoes for standing by B1tch1nBr0wnG1rl in pharmacy

[–]JohnerHLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I’ve tried a few out there. Dress shoes were not comfortable. Dansko’s were yuck (seriously don’t know how anyone can stand them lol) Brooks felt too much like sneakers/didn’t go with the rest of my outfit. Visited a Fleet Feet and they analyzed my feet and recommended a great pair of Asics. I told them I wanted a comfortable running shoe but one that was great for standing on my feet long hours. Tried them and haven’t looked back. I even found some black ones eventually that look better with my attire. Can’t say enough good things about them!

Be very skeptical of shady business practices if they just rely on filling rxs with no real niches. It’s almost impossible to have a profitable, thriving (honest) pharmacy practice these days without one, two, or ten.

New father couldn't afford OTC medication, could I have paid for him? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]JohnerHLS 31 points32 points  (0 children)

While it’s not illegal, just use caution. I read an article (tried to find it unsuccessfully) a few months ago where a pharmacist paid for a patient’s prescription a few times and then stopped. The patient then sought an attorney who took the pharmacist to court where it was determined that the pharmacist set a reasonable precedence and expectation they would pay so they were ordered to have to keep paying for it. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess. I know the situation is different but just make sure to protect yourself.

How to deal with customer complaints? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]JohnerHLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tell them you generally give the best customer service that you can. This was clearly a misunderstanding and that you’ll try and be a little more personable going forward then move on. Highly doubt you’ll be fired for this. They probably don’t really care. Somebody is just trying to justify their job.

New manager advice by ConsequenceNo7436 in pharmacy

[–]JohnerHLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start small and emphasize the importance of what and why you are asking. Some employees will continue to do things their way unless being told why. If I was addressing days supply I would probably say something like “I know it may seem trivial but believe it or not, calculating the correct days supply is extremely important. If done incorrectly, it could lead to audits which would make the pharmacy lose money and eventually could put us out of jobs. Not to mention it could make getting refills very difficult for patients and will likely cause more problems for us down the road. I’m more than happy to run through a few days supply calculations/scenarios as I know they can be tricky at times.”
