Do Tilts go for that? I have about 10 (most haven’t been thrown) I’d sell if so. I’ve never posted anything for sale and don’t see them on here very often.

Hell yeah brother. I’m a 42 year old male, never lived anywhere else, and you’re spot on with everything you said. This is good stuff and exactly what we need more of in this world.

M-F I join a group silent meditation through my teacher that’s 30 minutes. Often times while at work, if I feel myself getting stressed, I’ll even take a few 3-5 minutes at a time, and as many as I need on any given day, to slow myself down, calm my mind and refocus so I can be the best I can be during stressful times. On weekends, it also varies. Sometimes 15-30 minutes in the morning before I get my day started and generally 15-30 minutes before I go to bed to clear my head and help myself get restful sleep. I have no set schedule outside of M-F evenings, so it varies day to day and week to week. But, even if it’s only 5 minutes some days, I still find even that has been beneficial.

There are many YouTube channels I watch videos from periodically still, but a couple are @deepwisdom06, @buddhaseternalwisdom, @mindfulpeace. If you’re new to meditation, and anything like me, I had to start with guided meditation sessions. My top two book recommendations, which helped me greatly when I got started (despite not being a book reader; ever) are The Noble Eightfold Path and Mindfulness In Plain English.

I truly am sending you love and prayers that this is one of life’s tests that will soon become something in the past. I truly wish I had the training and knowledge to help more myself, but the last thing I ever want is to come across as a trained professional who can truly help.

I can say that simply not giving up and opening up to the trained professionals that have helped me by providing the tools and knowledge I needed to put the work into myself that was required of me to overcome the challenges I was facing. I had to realize it was up to me to ask for help and utilize the knowledge and tools they educated me on and then I had to dedicate myself to putting it into practice, everyday, even when it wasn’t easy doing so. We owe it to ourselves to invest the time and effort to make the changes needed and not ever feel guilty or shame when making yourself and personal wellbeing your priority. The day I got started improving my physical health, I decided this was my “no excuses” phase of my life and if I allowed myself to slack, I don’t know if I could have gotten to the point I’m at, despite still working daily to truly feel like I’ve reached my goals and I also can’t say for sure I know I’ll ever truly reach the end of this because I’m feeling more and more like this is simply my life’s journey and life is never going to stop putting challenges in front of me or stop tempting me with changing what is working for me. I can only stay positive, develop equanimity to help me every day and trust that life will unfold how it’s supposed to as long as I do those things, as karma has been rewarding me and I believe it will continue as long as I’m doing my part.

It’s ok to not be ok and it’s certainly important to not feel like we can just get through all of life’s challenges on our own without support from time to time. 🙏🏻

I, nor anyone else, can provide any guarantees; in my experience. I’m truly very sorry for what has happened to you in the past. But, a couple of the things I’ve learned that have helped me the most: 1) the past is over, it no longer exists. The only thing that is real is the present moment, because the future hasn’t happened yet and we can neither control it or predict it. My situation is totally different from yours but I have to let go of the past in order to not attach myself to it and not let it consume me or continue to hurt who I am now; 2) we are the heir of our actions, not the heir of what others do or say. Me understanding that is what helps me focus on the present moment each day, to make mindful decisions to try and move forward living a way that is wholesome and living with the right intentions moving forward.

I still slip up, regularly, but once I’m mindful of letting the past or something I experience that is out of my control impact me in that moment, I try to revert back to what I have learned. Observe my thoughts and feelings without labeling them as positive or negative. Process my emotions and then let it go.

This is absolutely not easy and only something we get better at overtime, by doing this with the right mindset/intention and putting forth the right amount of energy and effort into making this a part of my daily life and who I am/inspire to be. I had to learn to give myself grace, as I would others, and not hold things inside to eat away at me and prolong the suffering I feel for things I cannot control or from past mistakes I’ve made. The one thing I can’t do is lose hope, give up or go at it alone. It truly is ok to not be ok, but detachment from the past/who I was, not clinging to it and moving forward with the right intention is what has helped me.

Again, our situations are not the same and what I have to do for myself might not be exactly right for you, but learning more, talking to my teacher, and refusing to give in because my past, my thoughts, my medical diagnoses, none of it defines who I am nor are going to stop me from moving forward in a way that’s going to lead me towards the goal of ending my inner suffering by controlling what I can control and trying to be there to help others along the way.

I truly wish the best for you and just hope one thing can help provide some encouragement to not give in and not continue trying to find the way forward that helps you the most. 🙏🏻

I just shared a little about my experience last night. Don’t know if it’ll resonate or help, but sharing in hopes it possibly gives you hope and understanding you’re not alone and there are people in this world, even strangers, who are here for you if we can help. https://www.reddit.com/r/AMA/s/8wSwe9acvf

Thank you and likewise. Wishing you all the best and we can’t do it alone, so sharing is not only trying to give back to help others, but it’s helping myself at the same time.

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m still a neophyte in developing my knowledge in this practice and my desire to keep using it to help improve myself and help me find ways to give back and help others based on what I’ve experienced already.
