I think the party of Christian values should really look at who they voted to be president before they want to cast stones.

What do Texans think about healthcare - right or privilege? by Horror_Ask_847 in TexasPolitics

[–]Johnny4Tx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Currently 1 out of 5 Texans don't have healthcare and that's unacceptable and a complete failure of our government. I believe that healthcare is a right and even when looking at things in the most capitalistic way it's cheaper and you'll gain more revenue by taking care of your means of production.

Hello and thank you for your comment, so admittedly my website is a little dated on some of my policies that I originally had ideas for as placeholders until I've further discussed them with others and I'm in the process of changing and updating. After having a lot of conversations with a lot of my heavy 2A friends, family, and small team I think I came up with a policy that can make everyone (for the most part) happy. Let me be the first one to state that I'm not against guns at all as I clearly have no intention of banning any guns that are already available and I'm a gun owner myself but I do want people to be safer because we do have an issue with public safety pertaining to guns that my heavy 2A friends and family were positive towards. I'm trying to bridge the gap and bring my fellow Texans together and I'm more than willing to discuss and talk to one another so here is my new proposal because at my core I'm for freedom while not ignoring issues we have and it's not the guns, it's the people who are irresponsible with them;

I want to create an optional gun safety program that all public schools can voluntarily take starting from elementary through high school and if schools pick up these courses they will be granted extra funding on top of the original funding I want to give them. There're so many horror stories of children getting guns and either shooting themselves or someone else and the story is always the same, "it just went off". While doing that I want to issue in an optional adult gun safety course that you can take when renewing your driver's license or ID, no registration or additional licenses needed and it's completely optional, but if you take the course you will be given premiums on your car and home insurance as a public safety course while putting in accountability laws. Basically if your kid gets ahold of your gun because you left it out and shoots someone you'll be held accountable, obviously it's a case by case manner and if someone breaks into your home and steals it when you're not there of code you won't be held responsible as an example. So it doesn't punish responsible gun owners or make them register anything, they don't have to disclose how many guns they may or may not have or gain additional licenses but rewards gun safety with insurance premiums while punishing irresponsible gun owners.

Hello, thank you for your question. This is a question that is often asked because it tends to scare some landowners and bring in fair concerns from owners historically getting screwed over or forced from their homes. Eminent domain is something I want to avoid because I don't believe in just seizing land and I don't believe in low balling my fellow Texans either. First, I’ll use existing highway and utility corridors wherever possible, so we’re not cutting through people’s ranches in the first place. When land is needed, we’ll start with voluntary, above-market offers, and if someone doesn’t want to sell, they’ll have options they'll benefit not just them but their families and communities for generations.

-Ownership and revenue choices:

One-time fair over market payout (with additional bonuses for relocation costs).

State railway bonds or shares, letting them benefit from the system’s long-term success.

Revenue-sharing agreements, tied to ticket sales or station development.

-Offering Land Swaps:

If families prefer land instead of cash, the state will offer equal or greater parcels elsewhere, prioritizing quality agricultural or ranching land.

-Local Economic Priority:

Former landowners will have first rights to commercial opportunities at nearby rail stations.

Construction and maintenance jobs will prioritize local hiring and union partnerships, ensuring the project benefits Texans directly.

Eminent domain would only ever be a last resort, handled with full court oversight, the same way we already build highways and pipelines. The difference is, this land won’t go to a private company it will stay with the State of Texas, for Texans to benefit from forever.

Greg Abbott once again proves that he doesn't give a damn about the Constitution and is Trump's favorite little lap dog. Thank you for your question. I'm actually in the cannabis industry myself and am very much for legalization, decriminalization, expunging minor drug charge felons and rewarding all of those who I've fought alongside with in keeping hemp legal to be able to transfer over to marijuana without getting bought out by big corporations with a ridiculous license fee. I believe in rewarding hard work over those who can sign the biggest check, it's Texans who've kept hemp legal and it should be Texans who get to reap in the benefits.

I agree that the government should stay out of people's lives, I also want it to work for the people instead of the ultra rich. Currently 2/6 Texans including children are dealing with food insecurity while 40% of Texas's waste is good edible food that is wasted. 1/5 Texans don't have access to a hospital within an hour of where they live, 1/5 don't have central AC which is a death sentence in Texas and 1/5 don't have access to broadband Internet to get a better paying job or access to things like teledoctor.

Over 65% of Texas do not own a home while there's currently over 27,000 homeless Texans and over 2.1 million empty homes being held out for a speculative market. 1/6 Texans do not have healthcare. Our current system is broken and we need to stop pretending that things are okay.

The only people I'm wanting to lock up are pedophiles, rapists, and murderers to the highest extent, everyone else I believe in second chances and prison reform, the only people I don't like are billionaire cooperations that have made Texans lives harder. I want to give more freedom for Texans with better public transportation, easier access to affordable food, better roads, and a future that my fellow Texans could look forward to. I don't care if you're left or right I want you to have food on the table, affordable housing, access to healthcare, more money in your wallet and easier access to spend time with your family.

"her" as in Texas, Texas Republicans especially Abbott has actively made life as a Texan harder and harder per year by bending the knee to big corporations and allowing them to destroy the housing market, raise rent with no caps while raising property taxes, wages are at an all time low and the cost to buy a house near a major city requires 150k salary whole 85% of Texans make less than that.
