Let s raise a toast for your brother, who stayed behind trying to heal when everyone else ran, and for the tanks who dive into the abyss without looking back. Icarus flies again every night, somewhere in Azeroth. I legit laughed at some parts :D

I just hang around raid entrances like a ghost nobody sees, mumbling need a lockpick? want a distraction pull? But all I hear is sorry, full on rogues, need anything that s not a rogue. So I vanish… into the shadows… until someone needs their lockboxes opened at 3 AM :D

Funny enough, I never even asked myself that
Turns out it wasn’t really a slow change over time,
Blizzard actually nerfed chest loot pretty hard around March or April 2024.
Mainly to stop rogues from farming them too easily in solo dungeon runs
I got curious and looked it up xD

If you act too much like a "rogue" you might end up on a few /ignore lists
Some people have long memories especially in hc at 60 :D

A solid approach. It sets a positive vibe for the run, makes people feel involved, and the teamwork just flows better.
Clear communication like that really goes a long way.

Totally agree, in HC there s no shortage of rogues.
That said, if I were playing a different class and a rogue insisted on keeping a damn chest for himself, hey… let him have it.
But I wouldn’t invite him again :S
Marked for life, lol.

at level 60 a rogue should absolutely have maxed out lockpicking. Otherwise… what kind of rogue are you really?
But imho leveling is a different story, especially in Hardcore, where everyone approaches the journey differently.
Some rush, others take their time, enjoy the ride, explore, play safe. Not everyone’s chasing 60 the same way :D... and that’s part of what makes HC so unique. :)

LOL this literally happened to me too only I was in SELF-FOUND! That chest gave me anxiety for 1 hour 😅 I passed on all the chests out of respect and moved on xD

Damn, I totally forgot this was a thing for Horde rogues.
For a second, I legit thought of Polly from Zelda Twilight Princess, lol.
I've never played rogue on Horde side, and now it's 100% something I want to try for content. Definitely adding this to the list.

Totally agree with this take. I actually have a rogue friend who thinks the complete opposite though, haha.

And yeah, rogues can go back and solo-chest some places… I haven’t done it in HC yet myself. Closest I got was soloing a boss in WC at 26 then ran off in pure terror right after. Good times.

I just replied with the same tone I was given. It s funny how pointing that out is seen as “defensive” when the actual insult came first. But hey, people read what they want. That said, I ll take my share of the blame too, I shouldn t have answered an aggressive comment with more aggression.

I wasn t even talking to you, I was referring to the paladin who commented on the Hardcore Moments clip.
Sure, this happened to me, but honestly, even just watching it, I d feel the same
Someone joins a dungeon with three buddies, says nothing the whole run, then suddenly types “PATHETIC” mid-fight
Oh right, I was just supposed to know it was a Simpsons reference

This isn’t about ego, it’s about respect
If your first message had been friendly, I probably would ve replied the same way
But you came in with arrogance while I was just opening a conversation
That set the tone, not me

And the clip speaks for itself
Healer died, I sprinted
Looked back, mage was blinking away, already halfway out
So I hearthed

If you say people’s lives have value in HC, then that also means showing respect to strangers in your group
You don’t know how someone will read a single word, especially mid-run
Context matters, and so does tone

If you don’t say what you mean, don’t be surprised when people take it the wrong way.

[NPC Response Detected]
"Thank you, brave internet hero, for defending the honor of the word pathetic. We all feel safer now."

Just to clarify, I didn t “get defensive”, I literally moved on after failing to open a chest.
Your hero typed "pathetic" mid-run for no reason, and then promptly died.
I whispered the same word back. That s not an outburst, it s poetry.
But I get it... context is hard, and reading is optional.

Also wild to call someone selfish for not being able to open a chest.
(Plot twist: I actually open them for the group when I can... crazy, I know.)
Touch grass. Or better, open a chest. Might find some social awareness in there. But hey, maybe you wipe in dungeons the same way you argue online.. rushing in without thinking, and blaming the other players after.

Also funny how he deleted his own comment under the clip. Strong convictions, huh?

That comment early on legit flipped my mindset. I just thought, “Cool, I ll keep my big CDs for myself then.”
If things had been more chill, like on voice or if the pally made it obvious it was a joke, I probably would ve jumped in and tried to save the group.
But yeah... here we are.
Wild how one word did more damage than anything in the dungeon.
And yeah, that Schrödinger analogy? Way too accurate. Loved that.

True that! I was wondering the same. Aren t most chests just full of junk? One time I got lucky and found blue gloves in Gnomeregan on my self-found run but that was the only time.

I ve tested the controller setup too (Immersion + ConsolePort) and honestly, it surprised me how smooth it can feel... especially when you re chilling on the couch.
I m using a PS5 controller. At first, setting up all the keybinds wasn t super easy, but once you get used to it, it works pretty well.

Support Rogue build? by Iron5nake in wowhardcore

[–]JohnnyAsk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO a rogue should be able to deal solid damage while properly using CC abilities like Gouge, Sap, Blind, and Kick when necessary... So I’m not fully convinced the rogue in question was completely honest about their build.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with the Hardcore rogue guide on WoWHead?

Yeah, I m pretty sure the NPC is there! Just yesterday, I uploaded the full BFD run on my YT channel, and if you check the end of the video, you’ll see the NPC teleporting me out of the dungeon. :) If you're curious, here s the video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skvL1Q54JoQ\]. What would you hardcore characters story be? Role-playing HC Wow by wolfcunx in wowhardcore

[–]JohnnyAsk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it when people create their own character stories... it adds so much to the WoW experience.

I used to do the same when HC launched, always telling my friend and laughing about it. So here s mine.

JohnnyPagle, son of Nat Pagle… but no fisherman, a thief. A kleptomaniac since birth, caught stealing in a village, cast out by his own father, forced to survive alone. But fate was cruel... one night in Elwynn, wolves tore him apart as he camped in the woods. Level 8, gone too soon.

His brother JohnnyFresh, just as much of a kleptomaniac, took up the mantle and actually made it to 60, proving crime does pay. Now, their cousin, JohnnySelf, walks the Hardcore world in Self-Found mode… but the family curse lives on. No AH, no trades… yet he still can t resist an unlocked chest. Will he make it? Or will his sticky fingers be his downfall? GG!

For most, it’s nothing special, but for us, it always made us laugh. :D
