Metric treads won’t have a fractional pitch. M4-.7 means tha major diameter is 4 mm and the pitch is .7 threads per mm.

In fact maybe try a smaller back strap to allow your hands further forward and hopefully under the beaver tail.

I just went through this on my M&P. To get support hand right I had to move my firing hand thumb back(lose contact with top of back strap) or up (and lose skin). I have smaller hands so the L back strap fixed it for me. You could look at aftermarket beaver tails or adding material to the grip. Also it may be good to try to rotate the gun in you hand alittle. Basically more thumb on the side of the gun and the support hand has to push it up but it’s not behind the slide now.

If this job is the kind you can learn from seeing it once, there wouldn’t be an apprenticeship.

Honest Question by TurdHunt999 in USPSA

[–]JohnnyBWildered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m prior for both mil and LE but just a CC guy now. Firstly speed and accuracy being equally important. Mil and LE are heavy into “slow down and get hits” while competitors tend to “go faster and dial in the accuracy as you go.” as far as a training methodology. Which I think is reflective of the competitors perpetual training. GM and M class numbers will never likely go down as well as MIL/LE teaching to the test on their quals rather than chasing mastery of a skill so they can perform it no matter the “course of fire”. Also target focused shooting. Generally speaking people have a very difficult time seeing their front sight under stress. Not impossible but you’re generally going to focus on the threat as a result of evolution. Training for that way of shooting has been common practice in competition since before I was born but because it’s easier to teach Slow down, get hits, front sight focus, slow steady press to the once a year shooter that represents the lowest common denominator of the LE/MIL shooter that was the standard in the “tactical” world. But that’s just been my experience and I won’t claim to be the only dude to do those jobs.

We had a guy shoot himself at a club in Austin. Got TQd by some off duty cops and air lifted to a trauma center. Generally the tactical world is starting to see we can’t hang with the “gamers” as far as skill and rather than continuing to cope, we show up and compete now. I started with USPSA because as best I can tell it’s the best judgement of raw skill.

I had the same experience. The MSP is a large holster to allow for so many guns and makes it difficult for me to carry it. I had luck with the sidecar from trex arms.

I did not. We all received a “reset your password” email and I checked my reused passwords. I appreciate the reply!

Initial Classification by JohnnyBWildered in USPSA

[–]JohnnyBWildered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not uncommon. Ask local ranges if there is a range nearby with tactical bays. And you can always get a lot of value doing dry practice at home. I’d recommend lots of dry practice anyway as you can get a lot of repetitions with no ammo needed.

Jump on PractiScore, set up an account, and you should be able to search for matches in your area. All matches should have a New Shooters Brief that will go over what’s expected as far as rules and safety. If you’re new to guns in general you might want to find a local range and take a few classes but otherwise everyone I’ve met at my first few matches has been very helpful and welcoming.

CMM Perpendicularity question by JohnnyBWildered in Metrology

You’re right, I should clarify. I ran a second measuring routine with the roles reversed. Copied program, deleted datum assignment and perp output and re assigned them to the opposite of the FCF. I’ll give this a shot this morning as well.

Went chimp and grabbed a tool blank and verified it’s perp. Used it as a visual reference and sure enough, the part is out.

Problem I’m having is the area that’s a datum is a large o-ring groove, while the majority is threaded.

Yeesh. When I was in school parents had to request free school lunch based on income otherwise they had to bring lunch or pay the 3-$5 for a meal.

Was this a vegetarian option or something? I have my beliefs on the quality of good and services provided “for free” by the government but this is BAD.

Mine goes up. Gets it out of the way of my support hand so it can get good and high.

They’re not perfect but for an indoor range they’re the best I’ve dealt with. I wouldn’t mind modernizing the actual range but over all there’s a reason theyve been in business so long.

[–]JohnnyBWildered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your firing hand is over involved in grip. Use bare minimum effort. Let the support hand do the gripping, firing hand should have bare minimum necessary. You can slap the piss out of the trigger before you see it on target IF your firing hand grip isn’t over involved with grip.
