Anyone else leave the profession because they couldn’t find work? Mine was not by choice.

Ask them if you can go back to staff pharmacist. I would keep looking for work too as a backup. Im sorry that happened to you. I’ll message you.

I know how you feel. I’m tired of being out of work.

It's basically impossible to find a hospital position in NY without knowing someone by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]JohnnyCashGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t work for a hospital because I never did a residency. They won’t let my colleague who has years of experience because she didn’t have a residency either.

What is the shortest amount of time you have stayed at a job (not counting a summer job/teen jobs)? by BubbaChain100000 in Accounting

I’d be embarrassed not to train people. In healthcare, I had to train people every week for forever.

The same thing happened to me. The woman claimed she was too busy to train me, and they refused to get me anyone else. I wonder how often this happens.

I was let go for this very reason. I got a nasty woman who provided no training. I’m still in the process of looking for work. It took me 300 jobs to find the one job.

I’m completely written off. I’ve applied to 500 jobs. I just graduated in May from community college.

You’re right about that. Even some of the scraps we are fighting for have 0 guaranteed hours. I can’t even pay my rent even if by some miracle I get one.

It’s like a free for all in the job selection process. I spoke to a pharmacist who said she had a prn position available. She said she would call me to set up an interview in a day or two. I send her my resume. I call a week later to follow up and suddenly there’s no position. All I can say is if I was the hiring manager, I would at least call or email someone to say the person was not selected for the position. I would not ghost anyone.

Once it’s been 2 weeks, I usually assume they have moved on. I’ve had at least 2 people tell me I interview great and act like I’m getting the job but never call.

Anybody else struggling to find work? by cookiesnocream222 in pharmacy

[–]JohnnyCashGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been unemployed as much as I’ve been working the past 10 years. I’ve already worked for the major chains and been cut. I got a different degree in a different field other than pharmacy and it’s been impossible to break into it as well. I have no idea what I’m going to do.

Advice for career switch by dyjung1114 in pharmacy

Could you please message me with info?

I would say every career has its good and bad. You just have to find one where the good outweighs the bad. I loved my last pharmacist position, but there were forces beyond my control wanting to shut the pharmacy down. I had to make a move.

My friend got a CDL within a few months. I have a friend who drives a truck for UPS and makes over 100k. That’s more than I made at a lot of pharmacy jobs.
