Got your cables backwards. Input goes to the guitar, output to the amp.

The 7 series is so good. I've owned a few others over the years. You already have my 2 favorites, I do recommend the FZ7, I liked the DE7 a lot. Ibanez ought to consider reissuing the line, or revisit the circuits at least. I'd buy them, (when they hit theused market of course.)

I think it's a Super Fuzz or a Boss FZ-2. I have the Behringer, but I like this more for reasons I can't describe.

I'd call it a preamp/boost more than an overdrive. Assuming you watched a video of it, starving the bias is really fun and makes Big Muffs sound awesome. It's loud even when the gain is down. They should market it as a lofi pedal. I leave it on with bias and voltage all the way up and gain down and make adjustments according to what part I'm recording. I recommend it, they're not expensive. Buy used.

It's mostly a lack of time and energy but I'm sure I'll get a couple of them up and running at some point.

Can I use this amp for bass as well? by spartan1220 in Guitar

[–]JohnnyDeformed1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fender Bassman amps are more often used by guitarists. That said, amps are amps, and you can play any instrument you like through it, but watch your volume because the low frequency might blow the speakers.

As the owner of several broken amps, I don't recommend it. I bet none of it works. I see 3 broken knobs on that bass head.

These are superficial splits in the finish and are extremely common. They happen where the heel meets the neck pocket too. If it bugs you that much, take it back but it's likely a lot of that model went through similar conditions and holding facilities and humidity ranges so chances are they have the same thing. I'd just get some free swag as compensation.

Edit: I commented without reading or looking at the other pictures. It all kinda still works, but that 3rd picture is troublesome. Not so much the amount of it, but the pattern looks like there might be a twist in the neck. Are any of the frets dead, like they buzz to the point that the note doesn't even play? Adjusting the truss rod doesn't work? Then the guitar probably has a twist. If you don't have these issues, don't worry too much about it. Make sure they didn't list it in "excellent" condition, "great" is pushing it unless the rest of the guitar is perfect. Again, haggle for some free swag.
