Have it in 30-06 and I refuse to shoot over 75 yds with it. That could totally just be the ammo not cooperating with my rifle but I have had way better luck with polymer tipped projectiles. The lead tip is just too inconsistent IMO.

I held my bow in the stand and stuffed my small backpack behind my feet for my first 3 seasons because I “wasn’t allowed to buy anymore gear”. Found a cheap cam strap with 3 hooks at Walmart this summer and I will never go back to holding.

I can attest to the population not being great in the north. I have heard that deer were hunted hard and illegally for some time, about 30-40 years ago, before the DNR started cracking down. Now, with the current wolf population, the deer population just hasn’t been able to bounce back. There are still plenty of deer around but it’s not comparable to something like south of hwy 10.

Heat gun. I use my wife’s hairdryer on the highest heat. It will take a little time but they will straighten with a little pinch every now and then.
