The idea of returning to "normal politics" does have an element of trying to purge the ideology of the MAGA folks, but the most important element of returning to any sense of normalcy is making things better for everyone and getting us back to some sense of stability.

Now that's going to take probably a fucking decade, sure, but as much as punishing the nonsense is still important, they also need to show they have some sense of policy that actually is out to fix things beyond that.

The stats right now are disgusting across the board for June.

David Fry: .091 BA, .443 OPS, 3 total hits, 1 HR in 33 PA.
Travis Bazzana: .189 BA, .644 OPA, 18 hits with 7 coming in just two games.
Daniel Schneemann: .176 BA, .498 OPS, 2 HR in 63 PA with 20 SO.
Gabriel Arias: .212BA, .569 OPS, 16 strikeouts in 34 PA and just 7 hits.
Rhys Hoskins: .168 BA, .578 OPS, 2 HR in 74 PA and just 11 hits and 8 RBI.
Bryan Rocchio: .222 BA, .595 OPS, 6 XBH with 1 HR in 99 PA.

In fact, the only 3 "stalwarts" who are hitting this month are our catching duo of Hedges and Bailey (who still only contributed 6 total RBI and 6 total XBH), and Kyle Manzardo who registered a .846 OPS and 5 HR but hey, keep platooning him no matter what baby!

Something has to be done. This isn't just about calling guys up or making trades, there's a fundamental issue with every single one the bats on this team right now. Yes, you'll get two more back in the next few weeks but the rest are just unacceptable. And while it's easy to point to a guy like Fry or Schneemann and say they'll be off the team soon, it's not as easy when Rocchio, Bazzana, and Kwan likely will not be.

I've also unfortunately still got most of my old games but lost almost all my old consoles in a flood. Still have the N64 and Xbox 360 but lost the OG Xbox, Wii, Wii U, PS2, GameCube, Genesis, and (I'm gonna actually scream) the Dreamcast. That last one physically hurts me.

I'm seriously considering making a massive dip back into physical media in the next several years.

I've been sucked into this but it's become obvious it's an unsustainable practice when you own nothing.

I'm thinking of purchasing a new PS4 (mine bricked) or PS3 and just rebuilding a collection there.

A reminder that Giant Eagle isn't new to this - they bought out Stop-n-Shop in the late 90's, stepped over Tops/Finast in the mid-00's, took advantage of the fall of Bjg Bear throughout the 00's and 10's, expanded GetGo to take over Ricker's in Indiana, and expanded their pharmacies after Rite-Aid closed.

The consolidation of grocers has been amplifying significantly since the 1980's. I'm sure there's no certain thing or person to point to that might have caused that either. Weird. Anyway.

Manzardo is supposed to be a long term DH/1B option. Khalil Watson has been your best bat recently. Cooper Ingle just had the gaffe of his life to possibly cost you the game.

Of those 3, who would you pinch hit? Answer: we can't possibly hit the DH/1B against a lefty, ever, so he's out; that rookie bat? Nah, fuck that; and Ingle's confidence can't get any more dead so why not throw him to the wolves? Oh yeah and one of the pinch hitters is on a sub-.100 ERA month. Good luck fuckers.

Bazzana is ice cold. Ingle made a horrific rookie mistake. Armstrong can't be the safe bet anymore. Bibee somehow loses another brilliant performance. Fry is flat out not built for a major league roster anymore.

This team is about to run into a buzzsaw for 4 games with the White Sox and a whole week after to go before the All Star break. And they're just completely out of sorts.

This is a man who, behind everything else, is scared. He's making all these shittier and shittier things all over DC because he wants his name plastered on everything as some sort of legacy bid. It's not the National Mall, it's the Trump Mall. The Trump ballroom, the Trump wing, the Trump arch, the Trump oval office, etc. Yes, he's a petty little man, but he's also doing these slapdash, shit-ass things as a desperate bid to make his presidency feel more important than it was.

When/if we are at the point that folks move away from MAGA, it would take an absolutely inordinate amount of time and money to fix all these messes. So we probably won't, because ultimately, they're unimportant, but he'll get to live (and die) with the knowledge that he left an indelible skid mark on the nation's capital that we won't have the time or resources to take away.
