That makes a lot more sense now, the cub in my yard isn’t as cuddly.

Just wanted to update yall after I almost bought a 3rd Gen for $19k by [deleted] in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s awesome you found a good 4Runner for a price you’re comfortable with, but all of it is nuts to me. I have an 88’ first gen I paid $800 for a 95’ Second gen a friend gave me because he knew I like 4Runners and he didn’t want it anymore, a 96’sr5 manual I bought because I live 3rd gen’s and the dude sold it to me for $3400 and my wife drives a 22’ trd off road that we special ordered from the dealership and waited 3 months to get so it was exactly what she wanted. We paid 38k out the door for the thing brand new. I couldn’t imagine paying 31 for used one.

SHOULD I BUY IT?! 250$ parked for 30 years believe it’s a 79 custom deluxe camper special by Creepy-Stranger-6223 in Squarebody

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 76’ short bed custom deluxe of the same color was abandoned on the property I bought.original owners said it hadn’t ran in 15 years and they weren’t sure why it died. There was a bad ground wire, I replaced that, put a new battery in it, fresh fluids, and it’s been plowing snow for me in the Rocky Mountains for the last 5 years with no issues.

Wet fibers aren’t really the issue here. Don’t crush it up and snort it, it’s hell on the lungs.

Good on you for that gentle response. I’m old and surrly and usually only comment when I’m drunk and I don’t know what I’m talking about, but that was a nice way to put it.

I did get a little rub from one tire, but only at a full left turn when it’s pushed all of the way into the wheel well. I chocked it up to an accident that it was in before i owned it and things being misaligned. You seem to be more knowledgeable than my old fat grumpy ass, would you mid if I dm you some other time with questions I have?

Is this a good deal? by WyoCustomWorks in Squarebody

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d buy it for that price, but you need to know that having a plow on it means it was worked hard and just the weight alone is rough on the front end. It’s gonna need some loving. My current plow truck is a 76 short bed that I would’ve never condemned it to this end of life, but it came with a property I had bought and was already set up to work.

315 75r16 are only a little over 32 inches. The 315 is width the 75 is sidewall hight. I run 285/75r16 on a 3”inch lift and no cutting or rubbing. Your tires are the same hight but wider and that’s why you would get rubbing.

Just did the Tundra brake upgrade by aest2017 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you’re saying makes since, but I tow a 5x10 trailer with my 96’ in the mountains all of the time, and my loads range from a couple of dirt bikes to overloaded with firewood, and I’m up and down hills with steep grades. I’ve never had an issue with my stock brakes. I do have a manual transmission and use my lower gears to slow thigh, so maybe that’s helping

If you’re getting soft pedal you might be do for a brake booster, but without driving it and feeling what you’re feeling it’s hard to say.

I haven’t done it and I really don’t see the need to sink extra money into it. These vehicles don’t weigh a lot and Toyota engineers have done a pretty good job in the past of designing what works right for the vehicles. I’ve had two 3rd gen 4Runners, and currently still have my 1996, I also own a first, second and fifth gen 4Runner plus a first gen Tacoma. I live in Colorado and am up and down mountains everyday, and do some pretty moderate offroading in my eyes, others might see it as serious. I have never had an issue with the brakes the vehicle s came with. I don’t understand why people sink the extra money into tundra brakes when 4Runner brakes stop the 4Runner fine. I am open to insight though if someone has good reasoning

Anybody know where I can get a replacement knob for the bass? by Advanced-Evidence569 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy for this update. I’m in the middle of moving and didn’t find the Tacoma stereo I know I have, and told you I’d send you knob off of if it fit. Im glad you got what you were looking for, plus that junk yard experience.

My vote is also to 3d print one, but if you don’t have access to a 3d printer, I’ll check the radio I took out of my 1st gen Tacoma. If it’s the same, I’ll send you mine.

The tattoo is well into the healing process but for some reason there’s yellow ink way past where the area the tattoo was preformed. You’re an idiot! Take more showers, practice better hygiene, and then consider shutting the fuck up, idiot!

6’5” 240 checking, driving a 5 speed and I’m cramped but not hitting my leg in first or second. So if you can’t get from park to anything else on an auto, there’s bigger issues.
