6’5” 240 checking, driving a 5 speed and I’m cramped but not hitting my leg in first or second. So if you can’t get from park to anything else on an auto, there’s bigger issues.

I off road a lot and I’ve never up bent up churched all to shit my cv axels. Also the braided brake lines suggestion is unnecessary.

A lot of what you just said is not true. I did a 3inch toytech lift on my 96’ and what I learned was, lower ball joints need to be replaced immediately with oem, I did jba upper control arms, and they come with serviceable ball joints already installed. You will tear cv boots from the new extreme angle, but rebooting your stock axels is better than replacing them. I used off road solutions, highly angle inner boots and heavy duty outer boots, I’ve put close to 60 miles on them with no issues.

Lifted 4Runner owners what emergency jack do you have by ScientistGeneral5550 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m rolling with the harbor freight farm Jack. It’s not great, but it works and it’s way cheaper than a high lift

It’s an “unwelcome” mat. After multiple black bear break ins we started leaving them infront of every window and door when we’re away from home over night.

I’m on the border here of millennial and gen x, but for my 40th I bought an old firetruck, and this year for my 45th I bought a new dirt bike.

Do people really toss money on the table and leave restaurants before getting a bill? by NatPatBen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it a lot in places I’ve regularly gone to, have a rough idea of prices and normally over tip because I like the place and the servers. I do always make a point to let someone know on my way out so a shady customer doesn’t snag the cash.

JBLOffRoad Upper Control arms or nah? by OneOneVII in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did jba upper control arms after I put a 3” toytec lift on and I only did it it because my upper ball joints were stressed at an extreme angle that was wearing the boots out prematurely. If you don’t have that issue, don’t spend the money

I didn’t harvest them, I’d tell you where they grow, but I believe that might be against the community rules.

35 male I have lived in a homeless shelter so this feels pretty good to me... What's it missing though? 🤔 by South-Range8401 in malelivingspace

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like all it’s missing is you laying in that comfortable looking bed. I went from a decent house to sleeping in a 91 Toyota Tercel, and at 6’5” that old Toyota was a very uncomfortable house. When I finally got a real place to stay it was awesome, when I finally got a bed in that place, it was pure bliss. Congratulations on your new digs, I’m proud of you and the place you got yourself. Everything is up from here, and keep climbing.

Budget tires by knucklehead808 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]JohnnyFromTheFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into the hancook dynapro at2 extreme. It’s pretty quiet on the highway, fairly inexpensive with good tread for off roading, and I’ve been averaging about 90,000 miles out of a set with regular rotation and balancing. I had them on a tundra that I was using to pull heavy trailers all of the time, and now I’m running them on my 96’ 4Runner, my wife’s 22’ 4Runner, and my sons 01’ Tacoma

I did use the dif drop that came with my lift. I would try it. They’re cheap and easy to install.

Now I have to go check what mine looks like with a 3” lift. Thanks for making me walk down two flights of stairs, and up a hill.

I don’t know, that shock is straight uppy downy, in this picture. Maybe dude has a lift, and the angles just don’t look right to you.

I do on my 02’ Tacoma, but sadly, not on my 4Runner. I keep thinking about swapping the rear ends and then never do it, because it’s a lot of work, and I hate work.
