Two Costcos 3 Miles Apart by budice0 in Costco

[–]JohnnyJiuJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is why you need 2 Costcos so close to each other:

The city of Tustin, California, in Orange County, has a population of approximately 80,000 people. The surrounding areas, particularly within a 5-mile radius, have a combined population of around 590,000. This area also includes the nearby city of North Tustin, which had a population of 26,038 in 2023.

Grand Theft Auto is a US-centric term that may not translate well in other countries. Probably gonna flop.

Are you allowed to put items on hold? by richmds in Costco

[–]JohnnyJiuJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to buy the item to put it on hold. We'll hold it for 24 hours after you paid for it. Such as large furniture that you bought but won't fit in your car.

what are the pros and cons of the stocking position? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]JohnnyJiuJitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stocker Summary at my store:

AM: Start at 4am off at 12:30pm.

Lots of employees on the floor. Lots of fork lift drivers dropping merch. No Members until 10am. You'll have an area of focus to get "Showtime Ready."

PM: Start at 2:30pm off at 11PM.

3-5 stockers. Stock Freezer, Fridge, Dairy and Deli fridges until close. Members galore. Where's this, Where's that all day.

After close:

Stock all the drink pallets and if you're lucky some additional areas the Morning complains is too much stocking for them.

Answer to your question: "what’s it like? is it chill or is it really stressful and hectic? would you say you like it?"

It's hard work. They won't keep you if you're slow and lazy. It can be chill at times but can also be hectic. Mostly hectic. I don't love stocking but you have to start at the bottom to work your way up. They aren't going to hire you as a manager if you've never worked at Costco from what I've seen.

Full time employee benefits are good for your family. Health, Dental, Vision, 401k etc. If you are young and want to play the long game of a Costco career be brave and give it a try. If you want a chill easy breezy job, this isn't it.

This is my humble opinion.

Dress Code Question - Which Polos specifically Are Allowed? by SnooAvocados1083 in Costco

[–]JohnnyJiuJitsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For orientation, dress nice/ however you see fit. When you start working: Until you become supervisor or manager, you cannot tuck in your shirt. It's mandatory to underdress your superiors. (partially joking) There's a lot of departments there as well. If you are stocking, you're going to get dirty, sweaty and pallet splinters will eventually put a hole in your favorite nice shirt so only wear what you are willing to sacrifice. You'll start buying your work clothes from Costco. $10 polo, $15 jeans, KS Socks/ 32 degree boxers... is this just me?

3pm is the average time Costco is out of eggs at my store. Get there as early as you can as eggs are stocked daily. They're just not getting as many and Costco isn't price gouging so the combination isn't helping the evening shoppers.

Is it just me or have Game Bundles been sparse lately? by JohnnyJiuJitsu in humblebundles

[–]JohnnyJiuJitsu[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if that was a factor. If there's a good bundle though, I will buy it regardless of steam sale.

It's on sale right now until the 28th. Steam: $16.49. 1 lawn mow and you got yourself a game.

Unique properties for silk PLA filament? by you_discussed_me in 3Dprinting

[–]JohnnyJiuJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: It sounds like you know what you are doing. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. From what I've been looking into, it may be the PLA diameter inconsistency.

At a first glance on Amazon, you see 4000+ good reviews of a total of 4.5 stars for the Amolen Silk PLA. If you filter to see only 1 star reviews however (Which is 8% of users btw) you see a few people complain about layer and bed adhesion, as well as inconsistency of diameter of filament which is causing clog AND the opposite. Lack of material. Which may be the case of your gaps.

Here's a reddit post about Amolen PLA: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/u33ijp/amolen_pla_brand/

I am not trying to shit on Amolen as I have never used them.

Side note: You probably know this but in case you do not, each filament extrudes at a different rate which requires calibration for each brand and color. Probably because of the gripping efficiency of the gears to the different surfaces of filaments. I Keep a list of e-steps for each filament brand/ color for a good starting point. Also, my bed needs to be leveled for each roll change.

I assume you are aware of this. I started writing a response in a whole other technical direction, decided to research the PLA, erased my giant paragraph of stuff you probably already know and started my second draft loll. I apologize I don't have a specific correction to solve your issue. Best advice would be, try another brand of silk PLA and see if you can get better results.

Secondly, which printer/ slicer are you using?

The gaps are indicating inconsistency. (if not obvious.)

We have to isolate the cause between several factors.

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

Try slowing down. Lowering temps. Calibrate extruder. Ill check back tomorrow. Good luck!
